Is "The Host" by Stephenie Meyer a good read?

I've finished reading Twilight, New Moon and Eclipse and I plan to go head on to Breaking Dawn but I'm a little strapped for money right now so I can't actually buy the book... so I'll have to wait... (noooo!)

I really love Twilight (and the whole saga) and I'm not embarrased to admit that YES, I AM OBSESSED.

Stephenie is not gonna release Midnight Sun anytime soon.. :(.... so I need to occupy myself after I read Breaking Dawn...

So, that brings me to my final question- Is THE HOST good to occupy the mind for a while?

Yes, it will occupy your mind for quite a while. I know that was all I could think about for so long. It does get off to a slow start, and that part is still enjoyable to read, but then it just takes off and you can't help but be captivated by it. Well.. I couldn't anyway. I've read this book 4 times, and it just keeps getting better. I will have to venture and say I like it better than the Twilight series, and that means a lot because there's is no end to my love of Twilight. As another person said, I was crying so hard at the end that it rivals.. and probably surpasses the crying done by me when Edward left Bella in New Moon, which was so bad that one would think someone had just died. Anyway, even if you don't like it as much, I think it'd be a good read for you.

Yes it is a great book, it made me question many things, it is very deep actually, the details about this new world are all in place, all connected, and to think about a love triangle but two bodies? It is unbelievable. I also cried a lot, barely smiled but never let the book down.

And to show my addiction to anything written from Stephenie Meyer I would like to share that I'm from a country more or less in the end of the world so in order to have the book I begged a friend when he is in England to buy it for me, I waited 4 months to have it and later cried from happiness ;)

Yes it's fantastic...I can't believe I'm about to say this but.....I think I may have prefered it to Twilgiht...shocker! Although it gets off to a slow start, after a while it is really good...there's more action than in Twilight but the romance aspect is still there. By the end of the book I was crying so much that I had to put the book down (which was the only time I did) because I couldn't see through my tears....I'm very sensitive and emotional! I reccomend that you read it....it's really good.

It is a great read.

Although it gets off to a slow start, you have to just stick with it for the first chapter or so because it is worth it.

It is different to twilight but it still has that good mix of romance and suspense.

Also it is rumored there is going to be a sequel.

Hope you enjoy it!

its a great book

but if you want a bit of drama and action than you'll have 2 read it until further on in the book where it gets better.

it has a slow start but the ending is worth it

I must say I loved it a lot. It's a fantastic read although, yes, it does start off slow. But it's still really great once you get into it. There's love, action, drama, sorrow all jam-packed into this one great book. I definitely recommend it.

I haven't read it. (may do in the future but currently lack time to read anything so it will have to wait)

But several at work have read it. They said it takes anout 8 to 10 chapters to get into it but then it was pretty good.

Also try your local library for the other book.

Yes, I have read it and I thoroughly enjoyed it and yes, it would occupy your mind!

It is a very different type of love story, and very compelling.

A great read!

I didn't particularly care for it, although I thought the writing itself was really good.

But, that's just me. Try it out for yourself and form your own opinion.
