I just finished Change of Heart by Jodi Picoult.

At first it was a little weird. It talks about all kinds of religions and really explores that topic a lot. However, about halfway through I really got into it. Overall I would give it a 7/10. Picoult is an amazing writer, I just don't really like what she writes about sometimes. I say, read My Sister's Keeper. It's by her and it looks really good! (I reserved it from the library)

Happy reading :)

Non-Fiction: Losing It by Laura Fraser. About how America is obsessed with the diet culture and what we can do to overcome the madness.

Fiction: Abarat by Clive Barker. Officially my favourite favourite book. About a girl who gets swept off into the sea in the middle of nowhere Minnesota to a land made of 25 islands. One for each hour of the day, and one beyond time that records everything, all with their own separate distinct people & cultures. Noon island is run by a man who wants complete light and Midnight Island is run by a man who wants complete darkness. Both men are after her because shes the only person whose ever survived coming through from "The Hereafter". An interesting play and exposition on many human characteristics that we don't often think about.

Crank by Ellen Hopkins. It's about a girl who becomes addicted to -you guessed it- crank after visiting her father. She finds she can't break the habit when she's home and makes new friends to form connections. However, some of them aren't too good. The book is her downhill story.

It was all rightt. The book is in poem format, and there are some clever structures, but sometimes they get too angsty when it's best to be short and true. Also, Hopkins usage of 'OMG' annoyed me a bit, but that was only when Kristina ("Bree") is stoned. And one stupiddecisionn on Kristina's part me think that crank can't make you that stupid. Overall, it was enjoyable.

The City of Ember. Post-apocalyptic novel where everybody lives underground, doesn't know about the sun, etc. It has been 200 years since the rest of the human race died. Two twelve-year-olds escape from the city. Oh yeah, people are running out of food...but the scariest thing is that the generator might stop working.

I just recently read To Kill A Mockingbird (never had to read it for school) and I really enjoyed it. It's just about 2 kids in the mid-20th century in a town down South, and it was really interesting.

I'm also reading Angela's Ashes right now, but I just started.

I don't really have time to read a lot now :( because I'm taking summer courses so I spend majority of my time on that.
