To all writers that are interested in getting the best out of writing?

I understand that this may not be a direct question, but I thought I would post it here anyway. Basically, I have been writing for more than half of my life. I'm inspiring to be an author, and I know I have a long way to go. However, as well as learning from grammar and punctuation books, I have studied writing from several books and web sources, and I'm currently talking to a few published authors.

I have a fan page for my novel, but I also use it for helping writers. I'm going to the Words festival next month, I look forward to meeting many published authors and getting tips and hints from them. No doubt that I will share them on my website.

Basically, I am going to make weekly video's about different aspects of writing. Some of these aspects may be how to counter cliches, how to improve writing, how to provide good feedback, what makes a good character, how to make an interesting plot, how to describe, and so on. As well as how to publish, where to go and how to get it done. In the next few weeks I intend to help writers get more feedback on their novels. I understand that Yahoo Answers and this community does a great job with helping people, and I thought I would do my own bit too (as well as answer more questions about writing on here, of course). I will ask writers to post a chapter, or at least a few pages of their novel to me. I will post it on my website and ask a panel of people to give feedback. I have yet to make the panel. Or, if they feel more comfortable with just giving me the link to their novel, whether it be on Wattpad or another writing source.

Anyway, If you're interested then follow the link - http://www.facebook.com/ColdHeartSeries
Any questions, ask away at my email - Coldheartseries@hotmail.co.uk

Thank you guys, and I look forward to helping some of you. I apologize that this isn't a direct answer.

I do have a question too. Do you think that having such a website is good for writers, and is there any advice you can tell me how to make it better, or at least how to make it more appealing for writers.

Research. No matter what you 'think' is a good idea, suggestion or advice, until you actually become embroiled in the 'business' side of publishing you are guessing. In order to avoid mis-information from being passed along as fact make sure you check and double check.

Go to several agent websites and confirm the things being said before posting them. Cite from a publisher, agent or editor directly and make sure you link to the source after letting them know. This way the final buck doesn't stop with you and if someone needs more indepth information they can readily find it.

When something is your opinion or hearsay make sure that is clearly stated. 'what I got from today's lesson...'; 'When I went to ___ I learned that ....'; ; ' I took away with me the impression that...' Those aren't facts but ideas and interpretations and readers are equally interested in them as they are the facts.

I used to be critical with my writing via age thirteen. I recollect in basic institution how I took notes whilst the instructor used to be going over English...and having the instructor stunned for me taking notes. I'm no longer certain what precisely bought me fascinated with writing. I simply recollect writing. Since I would recollect at a tender age, I wrote reports. It wasn't till I used to be thirteen that I had a singular with characters and an entire storyline on my fingers. That's while I started skipping institution so I would write. Or I'd keep up past due from writing, that I would not wish to rise up within the mornings. BQ: My pleasant pal desired to write down a tale. But the woman not ever bought beyond one bankruptcy :p BQ2: I have many forms of reports that I love. Okay. All time favourite form of tale. Most should not be amazed...Vampires. Give me a well vampire publication. Give me different supernatural factors and romance. But like I stated, I love many forms of reports. BQ3: It's too past due to color my nails...I'm soo worn out...But I've been which means to color my nails. Chipped off the final little bit of the silver nail polish. What I wish is my deep, however no longer darkish, blue nail polish. But it is been lacking for a while now.... *sigh* I could do designs if I would preserve my hand consistent...or simply get a pal to do the layout for me. :)

So.... I just spent five minutes reading a website-book-promotion advertisement?

I have to be blatant. I feel your "question" was a last-resort to keep people from bashing your advertisement which is posted on a QUESTION AND ANSWER social network.

I don't mind book promotion, but come on..... Additionally, I wouldn't trust the knowledge of someone who has not yet made a name for themselves in the publishing industry. It's like buying a How-To-Write book from an unknown author.

No offense.

Why did Steven J Pemberton star this? It is clearly not a question that is suitable on this website and I will report Nathan. But Steven J Pemberton come on, you have had at least two books published depending on if it is the real you and like what Ankhesen said it is like buying a 'How-To-Write-A-Book' from an unknown publisher.

I'm not complaining at all, but on your website you should stick to direct questions and know what you want to say/ask and just say it. Add details after. And when you respond knowing facts and your main point will help a whooooole lot
