Okay I am a BIG Jane Austen fan and have read all of her books at least 8 times each. I've read most of Charles Dickens books and Bronte sisters and Elizabeth Gaskell. I just finished J.K Rowling and now I need another author to love!
Can you tell me your favourite author favourite book by that author.

And please DO NOT say Stephanie Meyer or I might cry!

It's a tie between J.K. Rowling and Scott Westerfeld. Holly Black is a close second.

I love Ray Bradbury. I just got finished reading The Martian Chronicles. It's a bit odd because of the "science fiction" connections to space, but really, it's a warning about losing one's identity and the misuse of technology. Fahrenheit 451 is also fantastic.

Along the same lines, George Orwell's 1984 is fantastic, another cautionary tale.

I'm so glad you've read some of the classics! Too often people just read what's popular and don't dig into the meat of literature.

Ernest Hemingway. Hemingway is possibly the most talented writer in American History. He spoke pages in just a few words. Case and point, his six word short story:

For Sale: Baby shoes never worn.

That is talent.

Favorite Book: I think the Nick Adams stories are his best, but they're more short stories than a book. In Our Time is a compilation of them. Otherwise Old Man and the Sea.

Jodi Picoult. I've read a lot of the same authors as you, and if you liked them you will LOVE Jodi Picoult. Her books make me laugh, cry, angry, giddy. About every emotion. I've never read a book of hers I didn't like. They are so... real I guess. I recommend reading Vanishing Acts first, that is one of my favorite books by her. I also love My Sister's Keeper and The Pact. I'm currently reading Plain Truth.

Happy reading(:

My favorite author is Clair Blank. :D

I love Harry Potter books as well. [:

Read the Beverly Grey series by Clair Blank. They are books from the 1940's but I enjoy them a lot because they are classics. :D
