I started out reading devotionals when I first received salvation, then I became impatient and bored with it, so I stopped for a long time because I figured I outgrew them. However, lately I've been going through hell with so many trials and tribulations in my life right now, that God put it in my heart to purchase a devotional book and I was so happy to come across one written by Charles Spurgeon. It's entitled Morning And Evening: A contemporary version of devotional classics based on the King James version. Don't worry, I looked the book over to make sure it's scripturally correct and it is. Anyway, do you read devotionals based on the word of God or has anything to do with R&S? Do you still like reading them if you still do? Do you still get a whole lot out of them if you do too?

I read Spurgeon's Morning and Evening every day and it has been such a blessing to me.

I love it.

(I've been checking it out at the library every two weeks for a year straight-

They might as well just give it to me!)

I also read an on-line devotional called Daily Portions by JC Philpot which is excellent, and I get a short devotional sent to me every day from a website called grace gems.org

If you're looking for something in addition to Spurgeon's devotionals I highly recommend these.

:)

Though I read a portion of the Bible every day, I don't always read a devotional. I do get one delivered, daily, to my e-mail, and it is quite good (like a mini teaching that refers you to Bible passages concerning that one topic). I have quite a few different devotionals, including the Charles Spurgeon one, and a family member does read several every day. I think a Biblically correct daily devotional can be both instructive and encouraging, though.

(BTW: I don't mean to be dense, but does R&S mean religion and spirituality?)

I love devotionals.....! Max Lucado is quite possibly the best! He has two volumes (maybe three now) called Grace for the Moment...it's made up of excerpts from his books! I love his writing! And they ( devotionals in general) are simply a source of positive input...it may seem simple and trivial...but considering all the negative we receive from this world, every little bit of good we can put in CAN'T hurt!! Be blessed, and keep the faith in Him!
