I am doing a personal study essay for English on 'The Curious Incident of the dog in the Night time' and i have to choose a question to discuss about the novel. I also have to use quotes from the book, discuss writing techniques, themes and discuss in depth the characters. Thanks.

I have a few ideas. I love that book!

Were you confused by Christopher's way of telling a story when you first began the book? Did that frustrate you or draw you into the novel?

Did the story help you understand people with autism any better?

Talk about Christopher's relationship with his his mother. How do the letters he finds help explain her actions?

Is it easier for you to forgive his father or his mother? Why do you think it is so much easier for Christopher to trust his mother than his father? How does that reveal the way Christopher's mind is different?

Hope this helps!

i have an A level exam on this book tomorrow, joy.

i'm not quite sure what youre asking though, or what questions it is youre looking for but heres a few that might be relevant :)

Is christopher unsuited to narrating a novel?

What is the significance of the title of the book?

The following statement appears in the book: "This is a murder mystery novel." Do you agree? Is the book really a murder mystery?

The following statement appears in the book: "Intuition can sometimes get things wrong. But logic can help you work out the right answer." Does logic lead Christopher to the right answers? How important is intuition in reading this novel?

hope one of these helps :)

i'm not sure about an exact title, but you could discuss something like, how does the use of language and layout correspond to the content and context...i would find it interesting to discuss the layout of the book anyway, like how the chapters are only prime numbers, and how that relates to the narrator's personality and issues..
