I love adventure books, but the best ones I can find are always children's and young adult books. I'd like an adventure book that's a little more mature. Nothing along the lines of erotic, just something aimed more towards adults. I'm also trying to increase my vocabulary so, it'd be helpful to find a book that has an author that doesn't always use everyday words.

I'd also like the book to be mostly realistic. And I'd like the author to have the heart of a poet. And have it shown in his/her writing.

Thank you!

Try No Greater Sacrifice

When archaeologist Renée d'Arcadia is summoned to France to take part in the reading of a will, she is plunged into a maelstrom of deceit and destruction to solve a 100-year-old mystery originating from a sinister church where nothing is as it seems. Renée joins forces with David Arturo, an ex-helicopter pilot with a troubled past, to interpret clues cleverly hidden in tombstones and classic works of literature to find artifacts scattered across Europe. Racing against time, Renée and David must overcome their inner demons to outmaneuver a network of evil bent on destroying them. What they find in each other just might provide answers to some of mankind's oldest myths

the perfect adventure e book I actual have ever examine became Shantaram by using Gregory David Roberts. It’s an autobiography (supposedly) disguised as a special approximately Roberts’ existence in India after escaping from a optimal secure practices detention center in Australia. Roberts’ adventures in India are so astonishing that it makes you contemplate whether it ought to particularly be real, and that i recommend that for the duration of a great way. The e book is over 900 pages and there’s in no way a lull. There are hundreds of short thoughts in the greater advantageous adventure/secret: some are extraordinarily heartbreaking, some are so humorous I laughed out loud, some are chillingly violent, some are heart-warmingly hopeful, and a large variety of comprise combos of the 4. The characters are so real. there are this manner of large variety of (possibly a hundred?) yet they’re so richly drawn that I in no way lost song of who became who. Roberts refers to his very own character as a “demanding guy,” which he surely is, yet he has an extremely gentle heart. this mixture is what makes the story so attractive. It additionally explains how Roberts ought to the two artwork for the Bombay mafia and run a loose scientific sanatorium interior the slum. in lots of tactics, the e book is like between the Bollywood video clips that the characters love plenty: it’s greater advantageous-than-existence, it’s emotional, it loves India (Bombay specifically), and there’s a large number of making a music and dancing.

Try Nokosee: Rise of the New Seminole (http://bit.ly/Nokosee) and its sequel Nokosee & Stormy (http://amzn.to/fqOoph). Although both are written from a 17-year-old girl's POV, guys will like it because of its plausible combat and survival sequences. Basically it's a coming-of-age cautionary tale with lots of action, adventure and romance layered over a twisted save-the-environment plea.

Try James Clavell's Shogun for a great realistic adult adventure book.

For an author with the heart of a poet try Something Wicked This Way Comes by Ray Bradbury. In my opinion it's his best. Beautifully written.
