Okay, so I've been wanting to read the Harry Potter series and watch the movies. I love reading yet I have not read one of the most popular books.

Anyways, I was given Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone for my birthday.

MY QUESTION IS: Should I read all of the books first and then watch the movies? OR should I read the first book, and watch the first movie; Then read the second book, and watch the second movie & so on?

I KNOW, IT MAY OR MAY NOT MATTER, but I am a "Better safe than sorry" type of person.

Question just for fun: Do you like the Harry Potter books and movies? :o)

Read the first than watch the first and so on. I doesn't matter, but if you start to read the series and want to wait to the end to watch all the movies, you may like the series and may want to change up and may feel pressured to wait until the end to watch the movies when you want to watch the movies before then.

I'm ok with the movies, but I prefer the books. The books go deeper than the movies and a lot of important things are cut for the sake of time limits.

I did a combination of both I saw the first two movies before reading the books and the last 6 after reading the books first. I found that I was more excited to see the movies after I had read the books and see the magic i'd been imagining come to life on screen. I'd recommend reading the books first but it's really up to you. Just enjoy them

The books came out when I was the same age as Harry and I grew up with it--what happened was the first 3 or 4 books were published and then the movies started to get made, and then it alternated every year (book published, movie came out, etc). I'd say read the first three, and then maybe watch the 1st and 2nd movies--always stay ahead with the books (as the movies are nowhere near as deep though still very good). Enjoy it--its a MAGICAL series :)

Read the books, then watch the movies. That's what I would do. There's no "right" way.

Personally, I don't think it matters because they are nearly mirror images of each other but it might be best to see the movies first. I saw them and then read the books. It helped because I remembered what the monsters were from the movies.

It depends if you care about spoilers.

Personally I like spoilers because I hate the suspense. I've watched the movies since I was young and ended up watching all the movies before I read the books.

If I were you, I'd go for the books first, then the movies. But if it were up to you, do whatever you want to do. Listen to my advice or just read the books and movies combined randomly.

Read the books first and then watch the movies.
