I mean, I don't know about you but I HATE tiny font. So when I published my book or a publisher did, could they make it in a bigger font? Like Font size 15? Or is that bad? I just don't want it tiny tiny. And do you choose the font? Because I don't like Times New Roman. I like Georgia better. So could I choose that as well? Thanks.

Unfortunately, the answer to your question is no. If you are a first time author, publishing companies already think they are taking a risk with you because they don't know how well your book will sell. That is why books can only be a certain length, so the cost of producing the book will be less. The only time larger font size will be used is when, as mentioned above, they produce a large-print version.

Best of luck!

Georgia would be good, but I doubt a publisher will go for 15 pt. font size. There are such things as large print books if you want to be in that category. Never had anything published, well, actually I did once now that I think of it, but typically the writer only makes suggestions; the publisher is paying for the costs and the book designers choose the font, graphics, etc. If you were a super famous author you probably could have that control but not yet.

You know, you could just write your story in the larger font. There is no reason why you can't. And as for when it is published, look at all your favorite books. Are any of them in 12 point Times New Roman? Nope, you are only forced to use that in essays.

You're allowed imput as an author, but the final decision is down to the publishers and they know much better than you do. I have seen books in different sizes and fonts, but often it's relevant to the story, it's not just random because the author happens to prefer that particular style. You'll probably be able to get what you want if you have a good reason for it.

When you send in your manuscript, put your writing in standard size 12 New Courier font. The font size is up to the publisher and the typesetter, however larger font versions will be printed for those with sight difficulties that items such as glasses, lenses or corrective eye surgory cannot fix, but very few of these will be printed.

Unless there is a story related reason the publisher will pick the font they use because they will own the marketing rights. If you self publish you may have more leeway, but may cost more.
