I like the Michael Moore answer, but Stupid White Men is not his first book I believe his first was Downsize This!

Mark Twain. His stuff is still getting banned! His first work was The Jumping Frogs of Calaveras County, which wasn't controversial at all.



In more recent history (though he's actually British-Indian, he lives in America now, so he sort of counts), Salmon Rushdie still has to watch his back for snipers for writing The Satanic Verses more than 15 years ago.

I watched a 10 minute clip of his Pastor and that i found out that the guy looks risky and the Obama relatives has not found out this in 2 many years? it is the guy we would like ideal the loose international. OMG

Avram Noam Chomsky! See wikipedia for more details! He is a writer as well! I haven't read anything he wrote, but I heard that he is considered as a controversial activist and writer.
