Question:
When "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" Is Released, How Will You Avoid Having the Ending Spoiled for You?
2007-07-03 18:58:50 UTC
When "Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince" was released, there were people who went around to bookstores, where people were lined up to purchase it, and they shouted, "Dumbledore dies! Snape kills Dumbledore!" Thus, the ending was spoiled for hundreds of people who had yet to touch the book's cover.

Since video of the incident was posted on the internet, there must be thousands of people who are just dying to copycat it. It's probably going to happen again, and in more ways than one.

How do you plan to keep from hearing how it ends, before you read it for yourself?

Have the book delivered to my door, switch off the telephone and the television, .....the computer, too, I think ...take two days leave from work and read and finish the book.Keep the front door locked, too, as a precaution.

Ah yes. This would be a very unfortunate event. The only thing to do would be to purchase the book at the midnight madness event at B&N, take it home immediately, and read straight through the night so that when I walk out of my house the next morning, I will already know the ending.

Haha! Having thus foiled those ending-ruinning ninnies, I will be free to simply smile at them, say "I know," blow a raspberry (Peevesie style,) and calmly walk into the store for my vente mocha frappaccino.

I plan on attending the midnight premiere party at my local Borders.

Then, going home and sleeping for a few hours.

I shall then read the book, and not stop until I finish.

I plan on not getting online, watching TV, or talking to anyone other then people that live in my house, who are very frightened of my obsession and don't read so its pretty much certain that they wont ruin the ending for me. :)

HMM.... How did they already know then ending if the others hadn't read the book. You do mean they were lined up at midnight?

Anyway order the book online this way unless you have a really bad postman no one will scream the ending at you.

Good thing I am an early riser! lol. I also pre-ordered my book with a choice to pick it up in the store the evening before it goes on sale or have it shipped. So, I paid the extra $2 to get it the night before.

well, i'm planning on not going to any Harry Potter sites, talking to anyone who's read it, watching tv, or flipping to the end of the book until i've read the book!! and if some idiot shouts stuff at the midnight party at barnes and noble i'm going to i bet alot of fans will very disapointed... and i wouldn't be surprised if somthing happens to that guy!! but if someone starts to shout stuff i bet Barnes and Noble will take care of it... and if they don't i'll just plug my ears!!

theres not much you can do about idiotic unloyal fans except ignore them and not go searching for information until you know that. thats the best any of us can do!!

good luck

what i am gonna do is, pre-order it on the net and then stay away from the net and "people" and then read it when i get it. you probably gonna read all book 1 - 6 before the new release i suppose. or if you do not want to wait..cos it takes a couple of days for the book to get to you if you order it on the net...then get someone to get the book for you while you stay at home.

This is one case where I am actually *lucky* to have bad ears! Seriously, though, midnight over there is about 5 in the evening for me... so I'll be at my store hovering over the guys as they break open the crates... no TV, no radio, no Internet, no phone until I've finished reading it!

i pre-ordered my book at a small bookstore and i'm going the moment it opens (since she isn't releasing it at midnight where i'm buying it at). i don't plan on talking to anyone about it and my friends read it too so i know they wont spoil it.

My advice is to not go anywhere that might allow someone to reveal the ending. Or just don't go anywhere, hahaha. I'm not going to put myself in any kind of position that might make the ending come out before I want to know it.

Stay off the internet till I finish reading it.
