I have also found that, in some instances, it is difficult to write in certain journals. I have no idea why this is, but oftentimes, when writing in one that is more elaborate, the ideas do not flow in the way that I would like. These journals are plentiful in my case, it's true, and I regret buying so many beautiful journals that I feel hesitant in writing in! It's a shame, really, that many of the journals in which we envision our writing do not always allow us to express our thoughts freely, effortlessly.
For example, my current journal is an Italian leather, and though it is lovely, I frequently succumb to writer's block while using it. ): However, in contrast, when I put to use an ordinary composition notebook or something less ornate, I, for the most part, am able to write without problems (though this is not always the case). All the same, I always find myself coming back to the nicer varieties, because -- I admit it -- there is something immensely satisfying about writing in something beautiful. I don't know how to describe the difference in writing that specific notebooks may or may not provoke; what does everyone think? Have you noticed differences in your writing when writing in a certain notebook? Do you feel more restrained when writing in something nicer?
Eh. I have too many notebooks and journals to count, and I do not write consistently in any of them. Rather, I switch from notebook to notebook spontaneously, and hope for the best. xD I really don't know which suits me best; I suppose it depends on the time and my mood.
Oh, yes, and also, do you have a preferred location in which you write? I enjoy any place that has plenty of natural sunlight; I find that, in my experience, confined spaces encourage writer's block. Writing outdoors is very lovely. :D
And, of course, a trusty pen -- any color ink will do. But no pencils. Eek. I am quite persnickety.
And you? (: Please share your thoughts!
