There are plenty of things to explore about in the Hunger Games 's world.I don't think we'll get a book of Katniss's life after the games because the author is done with that story. There are other things left to be explored like...

-what happened to the rest of the world
-the natural disaster and the nuclear war
-the other hunger games or somebody's POV from the capital of how they view Katniss' 74th hungergames
-the capital
-What really did happened to the rest of the world?I never did figure that out.Was it like a wasteland??Did they watch the Hunger Games too?

No, there will not be another book. She's finished the series, and Katniss is at peace with Peeta and two children. Gale went to help others. They're re-building District 12. You're right-there is lots more to be explored in the world of the Hunger Games, but I don't think she's going to do another one.

As far as prequels go I wouldn’t mind reading something about Haymitch’s games, or possibly something about the original rebellion to see how the Hunger Games came about.

Unfortunately with the way Mockingjay ended it's very doubtful that Katniss' storyline would ever continue. Everything was tied up. Plus there were way too many characters written off.

However, I do read a lot of fanfiction and I found one that continues the series in such a way it almost felt like it could be real. It's called Inferno and it's by M. Cooper Jinks. Inferno is actually a series of three parts (the Awakening, the Mockingjays, the Mountain) split like each of the books were. The story itself provides a very unique take on the last 8 chapters of Mockingjay that completely took me by surprise.

Unfortunately, it's over. The story was focused on Katniss and her life. If you want to read more stories like that, read fan fiction. Try fanfiction.net or wattpad.com. They have some pretty good ones.

The story is about Katniss, not the rest of the world. Her story is complete at the end.
