Only by:

1. Being a really close friend of JKR.

2. Ponying up a truckfull of money.

Not to worry, I imagine it will be published at some point. It sound like it is too short to publish by itself, so it might get into a new edition of DH as an appendix or in the Potter Encyclopeida when she does that.

1) go to Sothebys on December 13

2) outbid about eighty-six thousand people

3) and yeah, have more money than, like, the entire state of delaware.

honestly, i'd bet that the final bid will be closer to thirty MILLION. only seven copies, only one for sale, stories not printed anywhere else, hand written by JKR with a personal one of a kind inscription? talk about the perfect gift. **not to say that it won't get posted on the internet anyway.....

wonder though, who's getting the other six?? they are supposed to be thank you gifts to people who helped her along the way......

These are handwritten, specially bound, unique cover, books.

6 have been given to her closest friends who had involvement in her writing of the HP series.

*1* remaining book will be auctioned off, at a starting price of *£30,000* {Thirty THOUSAND pounds}.

I suspect after she's milked the auction for all it's worth, the book will be released to the general public a year or so later.

Yeah unfortunately your only hope of getting one is to outbid everyone else. Have you got a lot of spare money?? I think I read somewhere they were going to start the bid at £30,000.......oh wait it could have been £300,000 I'm not sure!

PS If you happen to win will you let me borrow it? =)

You answered your own question; win the auction.

I doubt it will be very long before the thing's leaked and posted online.
