My character Caroline needs some superpowers and I don't know what to give her.

Caroline is an only child. Her parents divorced when she was 10 and she felt like it was her fault. She found out that the only reason they got married is because she was born. So, she hates herself for it. She's very fascinated by death and chaos. With death she's more interested in the rotting part, how it works and stuff. Since she was an only child, her parents brought her a small rag doll that looked just like her and said it could be her sister. She carries it everywhere and won't let anyone touch it. She loves to play with fire and read. She really likes to sew. She only has 3 friends not including her doll. She loves scary movies. She's very quiet and shy. She's very smart and on the honor roll at school. She's a little lazy and her favorite subject is english.

What powers should Caroline have and how should she get them?

Why should she have any?

Stories depend on character. Superman is not interesting because of his super powers. So what that he can leap tall buildings in a single bound, has x-ray vision, can stop a train and move faster than a speeding bullet? The stories are interesting when his super powers are more a liability than an asset. Look at all the super heroes - the stories all start where their super powers begin to fail them.

Batman's super power is that he can see how to use gadgets to achieve his ends. Daredevil has only his lack of fear to help him, along with his sensitivity to sound. Put him into an anechoic chamber, and he's lost.

Mycroft Holmes (Sherlock's brother) solves cases faster than Sherlock does, and seldom leaves the Diogenes Club. Even Sherlock had no super powers, just his ability to observe and draw correct conclusions (except with "That Woman", Irene Adler). It's not a super power, but his ability to use what he has - his brains and ability to THINK.

Go to the Nancy Drew stories - she solved cases just because she was clever - no super powers, no huge advantage.

Super powers are a major weakness in writing stories - invincible characters are not interesting! It's the ones with weaknesses that make the best reading.

Perhaps Caroline is a mind reader and can receive flashes of a person's thoughts and feelings with a mere touch. This could be especially useful if she touched dying people and could learn about their unspoken experiences with the process of dying (either naturally or unnaturally). She could discover her powers when she and a friend encounter a robbery victim in a convenience store and she accidentally touches the dying person and gets into his head.

Good Luck.

Hope this helps.

it is not plenty something to concern yet to comprehend the household projects and effects of. there's a asserting that "lack of understanding is bliss" it relatively is as a results of the fact with lack of understanding of know-how is likewise lack of understanding of the accountability so which you would be able to say i will't help and don't something waiting for somebody else to assist. yet in understanding your individual know-the form you in addition to mght would desire to correctly known that confident you are able to help in case you opt for to and are you waiting to do no longer something whilst understanding you need to be doing something? Now it is not that those that know are specific they are the comparable as the different it somewhat is only that they are wide awake. there have been many documented situations the place person-friendly human beings have accomplished doubtless impossible issues to maintain others whilst they have been decrease than rigidity to do something that had to be accomplished by no ability thoughts in spite of if it somewhat is attainable or no longer it should be accomplished. we are able to so plenty extra suitable than ever imagined! there's a sparkling coach on television "The impressive Human device" on national Geographic Channel that explores our powers, what the human physique can try this maximum might say is impossible. I coach my scholars this in Karate that there is not any subject however the subject we've self belief in.

There was a storm one night. It knocked put the power at her home. She reached for her laptop at the precise moment power was restored, and-ZAPCRACKBAM*...a girl once shy has a vast confidence gained from the computer she "absorbed" a few "gifts" from as a result. Use your imagination!

Well, necromancy or puppetry would be fitting, although figuring out how she got them is usually very crutial to the story, and is recommend you used your noggin for that.

Mind control!!!

Decay

Or she could manipulate music...(Wield a magical instrument that creates melodies depending on her emotion and what attack she needs. (Example: Decay's Harmony : She plays the tune to any living thing and she can induce decay or reverse it...)

She should have Fire power (like throwing fireballs and blasting it from her hands). When she's angry she should have heat/fire coming from here hair and she got those powers from her cousin who is a witch and cast's spells.
