I haven't read any books in a while but I used to enjoy getting into a really good series of books. I'm 14 and like fictional books such as the Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging books. Any suggestions of books or series would be appreciated :) thank you.

Finally, someone who acknowledges that Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging books are the funniest books ever to come out of a publisher's office! Hi five! (LOL)

Apart from those Georgia Nicolson books you seriously NEED to read:

-Every book in the Luxe Series by Anna Godbersen - that's The Luxe, Rumours, Envy and Splendour in that particular order. Filled with glamour, suspense, glitz and romance, these books are NOT to be avoided! I would recommend you read them with a box of tissues by your side - there are some tear-jerking plots in this series. Just remember to read the books in that order otherwise you'll get confused.

- Dizzy by Cathy Cassidy : Great plot and the book is relatively small so you can get through it in one day. You'll fall in love with all the characters, especially Dizzy and Finn.

- Glamour by Louise Bagshawe - Based in the 80's, the characters are so gorgeous and glamourous in this novel, but it's also really thought-provoking. Definitely something to read over the summer.

- Withering Tights by Louise Rennison - Written by the same author as Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging, you'll get just as many laughs out of this book as you did from Georgia and the Ace Gang. And if you're anything like me, you got a lot of laughs out of that series.

- River Song by Belinda Hollyer - This novel is has a different style to many of the books I suggested but is definitely something worth reading.

- Everything in the Mates Dates Series by Cathy Hopkins - Like the Anugs Thongs Series, this 12-book series is also hilarious, and written in the views of Lucy, Izzie, Nesta and TJ.

- Tell it to the Skies by Erica James - You will cry buckets when you read this book! It's all about the childhoods of Lydia, Noah and Valerie in the eyes of Lydia the main character. Tell it to the Skies is one of the best-written books I've read and is full of romance, but is also a bit sad.

Try House of Night series ... I believe there are 7 books to date. The authors are P.C Cast and Kristin Cast they are a mother daughter writing team. The books were pretty good. The first one took a couple of chapters to get into but after that they are really really good. Not your normal 'vampire' series it has a lot into it beyond that. The first one is named Marked you should be able to find it at most book stores. I found it on accident at a Wal-Mart on the way to the lake one morning and then I was hooked to the series. Hope that helps :)

Try The Belgariad by David Eddings - not just for girls. It's sort of like Lord of the Rings but with better characters. It's a series of 5 books that starts with Pawn of Prophecy. A further 5 books follow with the series name of The Mallorean.

I read this first as an adult and read them again every 3 yrs or so but we also read the books to our 9/10 year old daughter (yes it took well over a year - she could read herself of course but what 9 yr old would embark on a 10 series read?) and she has since read them several times herself.

The Tomorrow series is a really good Australian war fiction series that follows the story of a teenage girl named Ellie and her friends when the country is being invaded. There are 7 books in the series + The Ellie Chronicles (3 books) which talk about her life after the war. It is REALLY good and I highly reccomend it. The first book is called "tomorrow when the war began"

Thankfully, a girl who DOESN'T like Twilight! Welcome to the club. Well you're the same age as me but (and please, don't take this the wrong way, I'm not being condescending here) I read all the time, so my opinion of a good book may differ somewhat from your own. I can't really recommend any series of books, apart from Harry Potter. Here's a few I've read, but in case they're not to your taste, I suggest getting them out of the library first;

The Curious Incident of The Dog In The Night-time (Mark Haddon)

Come Clean (Terri Paddock) WARNING I'd advise reading for a good while before attempting this one; the subject matter is very intense.

The Virgin Suicides (Jeffrey Eugenides)

Milkweed (Jerry Spinelli)

Stargirl (Jerry Spinelli) Forgive me if I'm right but you might be slightly advanced for this one, but give it a go!

Oh wait, here's a series; The Princess Diaries!! Meg Cabot (or if you don't like them, you could try her All-American Girl series)

Hope I could help. Happy reading!

If you are looking for something with vampires and the like, I strongly suggest you try the Nightworld series by LJ Smith. They were around before Twilight and are MUCH better, the writing is more mature and they show a healthier attitude to relationships and romance, although the actual relationships in the book aren't always ideal. Perfect for your age range, and very interesting reading.

All of the Harry Potter books are amazing. I would definitely give those a glance. You also might want to try the Series of Unfortunate Events books.

Anything BUT Twilight. Better dead than... ugh, a meyer fan. Her books are if anything, a degradation to your mental vocality. I know, I've read them. I've gawked at the cliche stupidity and it makes me laugh at meyer every time I see her fat face.
