What genre of books/movies were you searching for?

- HARRY POTTER - J.K Rowling. Harry potter is a fantastic book and I think you'd really enjoy it. The sixth Harry Potter books comes out on the 15th of july (In australia... Im not sure about the UK) so if you're a fast reader try to read it by then!

- TWILIGHT - Stephenie Meyer. Considering the fact that you're from 13 - 15 you're probably want to read twilight... unfortunately. I personally do not think Twilight is a good book but a lot of people would disagree.

- TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD - Im not sure if this is the kind of book you were looking for but it's quite interesting, give it a try. As you dwell further in you will learn to find that the mockingbird is not a bird but in fact a black man charged with rape of a white girl....

- LORD OF THE RINGS - J.R.R Tolkien. Lord of the rings is a VERY long series. If you think you're up for it, give a go. The amount of time that I've picked up those books and only got through the first few chapters is appalling. hehe. The movies are fantastic and Ive heard the books are too!

- ANGELS AND DEMONS - Dan Brown. This is a newly released movie too.

- ARTEMIS FOWL - Eoin Colfer.

Twelve year old Artemis fowl is a millionaire, a genius - and above all, a criminal mastermind... Unfortunately there is no movie but it IS a great book!

- THE BOURNE IDENTITY- Robert Ludlum. Ive never read the book but the movie is great and really captivating.

- ERAGON - Christopher Paolini. There is actually a series to this book but read them! The series is really good as well as the movies

- THE NOTEBOOK - Nicholas Sparks. Im sure you've seen this movie but its a great book too

- THE PRINCESS DIARES - I absolutley LOVE the books and the movies! Im sure you will too!

- A ROOM WITH A VIEW - E.M Forster

- A CLOCKWORK ORANGE - Anthony Burgess

- KISS THE GIRLS - James Patterson

Hope you liked my list of ideas... It took quite a while!

Into the Wild, if your a little more mature for your age this a great book, I read it when I was about 15 and they just made a movie about it a year or two ago which was also a very good independent film. By the way, I hate reading and almost all indy films but this book and film were excellent. The author is Jon Krakaur, I believe?

Contact by Carl Sagan, later made into a movie starring Jodie Foster. It's an attempt at a realistic portrayal of first contact with an alien civilisation. The movie takes some liberties, but stays true to the spirit and intent of the book, and is at least an order of magnitude more intelligent than any other movie I've seen on the same topic.

I totally agree. They always leave out parts that are really good and change things around just so the movie will sell better. Books give you a much better chance to interpret the story in your own way, whereas most movies don't...pretty much what you see is what you get. In my opinion, the best/one of the best copy of book to film was the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Granted that they did take out quite a few parts, the movies still stayed true to the characters, the theme, and the plot. Another is Secret Window (based on Secret Window, Secret Garden by Stephen King). I read the short story later and the movie doesn't differ that much from the book.

The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy - I read that when I was about 14 and I absolutley loved it! The films not bad, but the books brilliant. Also maybe The Colour of Magic, almost all the Austen books (I thought Persuasion was really good), Little Women and Animal Farm, depends what type of books you like!!

Misery or The Green Mile, both by Stephen King... both excellent novels and both made in to excellent movies. I know most people are saying stuff like Harry Potter and Mr Men or whatever, but I read those two books when I was your age and I loved them!

The City of Ember by Jeanne DuPrau.

It's actually a series.

The City of Ember, The People of Sparks, The Prophet of Yonwood, and The Diamond of Darkhold.

Read the series first.

Trust me, it'll fly by.

And then watch the movie, City of Ember.

Inkheart by Cornelia Funke

It's about a girl named Meggie and her father who she calls "Mo". Meggie and Mo has a special talent that allows the things they read aloud from books come to life. What happens is that Mo reads a book called Inkheart and Meggie's mom/Mo's wife suddenly got into the book. You should read the book to find out more. The movie i believe is pretty good too.

Well obviously Harry Potter, but the films are rubbish compared to the books.

To me twilight was a horrid series. I am not very common with books made into movies, so I suggest reading more, majority of the books that get made into a movie are childrens books.

Marley and Me..about an errant dog taken on by a couple. Its hilarious and very heartwarming, not to mention sad.

The film was with Jennifer Aniston and was a bit of a let down.

Try the boy in the Striped Pyjamas.

It's an excellent book, and I think they did a very good job in converting it into a film.

It's sad though, so if you're prone to getting a little emotional, have the tissues ready!

OMG TWILIGHT. Jokes.

Definitely try True Blood, it's a TV series of the Sookie Stackhouse novels. Lots of sex, but it's good.

Also try Butterfly Lovers: A Tale of the Chinese Romeo and Juliet. It's in Mandarin, so you'll need subtitles. It's on youtube. :)
