Name for a monster, please help?

So, I'm practically finished with my story, I just need to type it out. But one thing I also need is a name for the monsters in the story. If any of you have seen the 1990s Disney Cartoon, "Gargoyles" their appearance looks very similar to them. These big flying monsters. Well I altered the appearance for my monsters so they don't look exactly how they do in the show. For example some of them can't fly and instead of turning into to stone during the day, they turn human. Then once it hits sundown they turn back into these demonic looking beings. During the writing process I've been calling them Legedicts, but that just sounds lame to me. Any suggestions? Your help will be greatly appreciated.

A little about the monsters:

- originally from medieval ireland
- some can fly and others who don't are just fast or big
- by day they're human which is their most vulnerable state
- by night they're in their true forms
- they have claws and some have bird like feet
- they have these small spikes that come out from their shoulders and forehead...it somewhat looks like lady gaga on her born this way album cover how she has this distinct bone structure coming out of her shoulder, forehead and cheeks?
- their skin is smooth like a humans but each one has a slight unnatural tint to the skin so it appears... red, blues, green. it depends on their environment so they could easily blend into the night.
