You really need to tell us the entire topic of your essay - did you just do a book review of this book? Was the essay supposed to link the book or the plot to a general theme in your class? Why not also just ask your teacher? Schedule a meeting after class and talk to them directly about their comments you'll definitely know what they mean then

Was there a question that the teacher provided for the essay prompt? If so that may be what they're referencing.

If you don't know what the question is, then how are we to know? These might help.

Chris was autistic. That means he had an aversion to direct eye contact, human touch, etc. It also changed his communication style. Moreover, he has a distinct way of approaching the world that is constrained by his logic parameters. So, how did all of these "restrictions" change his daily interactions? How do others help him by understanding him? Hope this helps.
