Here is something to remember for a good long time - if you put it in writing it can and will be seen by a great many people. Always be careful what you write. The best thing to do is pick up the phone and call someone or see them in person.

People who type text, email and blog can be seen by many people and what is to stop someone from forwarding a text or email you just sent them in private to someone else? Once it leaves your hands you are no longer in control of your words. How many times have you received a forwarded text or a forwarded email? It's amazing just how far something you send can travel without your knowledge or approval.

Also be careful if you post anything negative. An example of this is when you apply for a job can your potential employer google your name and find what you have written? Will it be something positive you have posted or is it something controversial?
just curious

Sadly yes, or so I've heard, maybe my parents were just saying that. But if it is true then, yeah, they can call the company and get a list of all the texts made on a phone. After all, they are paying the phone bills (probably) and have the right to know (supposedly).

Also, maybe I'm wrong, but I would think parents have to have a password for their (example verizon) account to look at your texts. why would just anyone be allowed to see them?

That's ridiculous..There's no way. Your sexting exploits are safe!!

EDIT: I'm sure phone companies can read texts, but surely it's some breach of privacy if someone can just call them up and find out what texts have been sent? It sounds ludicrous to me.

Though it might be a diff story if your parents pay the bill..

Solution, buy your OWN phone and pay your OWN phone bills.

Yes th33y can. they can get on the computer. say you have verizon they can get on verizon.com and on your plan and see everything you and other people have been texting. they can also go to the phone company store and get a print out of everything.so i would be carefulll of what you say.
