Basically, i'm writing a story, and I want my character to have a flashback of a childhood memory, what kind of a memory could I write about?
I don't want the cliches (like birthday, first time doing something etc..)

Well, you could use a memory about the main character with her mother or father. Something really special that happened with them that the main character will always cherish.

If you want something sad or dramatic, try one of his/her friends died in some way.

It really depends on what the story is about. Sorry if I couldn't help you that much. Good luck and I hope you have a easier time with your writing then I have had.

Being drugged by a stranger after leaving Sunday School and being carried in a wheelbarrow to house up the hill with no windows and being placed in a room with several other children each of whom has a bag over their head with an image projected on their face of a person smiling.
