I personally think the Kindle 3 is better. But the nook looks better. But like the saying says don't judge a book by it's cover.

Here are the reasons why there different.

-Kindle is in black and white, while the nook has color

-The nook is touch screen while the kindle is not

-If your friend has a nook you could borrow books from each other with your nook. It's like a blue tooth only you won't have the book when it's borrowed.

-You can read books free with the nook for a whole hour at any barnes and noble store.*I also found out you can do that with a kindle too.

They both have wireless and Mp3 which is a plus, because I love music while I read.

-Kindle has text to speech

-Webster dictionary when you get stuck on a word

-Over 1,000 free ebooks most are classic

-Read a free chapter digially from your kindle in sixty seconds.

-Buy a book instanly with your kindle

-Have up to 3,500 books downloaded

-The screen is in black and white like paper. And it comes in two different colors graphite or white

-The kindle screen doesn't strain your eyes while you read like a computer does over time

-The battery can last for a whole month without using it. (You will still have to charge it even if you don't use the wireless)

-1 year warranty if something happens to your kindle.

i personally like the nook better than the kindle. i have spent some time researching between the two, as i did not know which i should get. after many questions and opinions i settled on the nook. i was not disappointed. when you buy books on the nook you can use your credit card just like the kindle. but for the nook you can use barnes and nobles gift cards that you might receive as a present over the holidays. i prefer the nook, and personally i think it looks better too.

Hey Lando, I own a Kindle and I've seen some features about Nook. Here is my comparison:

Nook is not really an eBook reader, is more of a tablet PC. Amazon's Kindle is cheaper $139.00 and the Nook is $192.95. The new Kindle holds up to 3,500 books , Nook holds only 1500 books

Here are few features that I really like about Kindle.

* Enhanced PDF Reader – With dictionary lookup, notes, and highlights

* A single charge lasts up to one month with wireless off

* New crisper, darker fonts

* Over 1.8 million free, out-of-copyright books are available such as Pride and Prejudice

* You can listen to music to it

* Browse the web over Wi-Fi

* Listen to music
