It's an actual hill in north Hampshire England which the rabbits are trying to get to. Richard Adams grew up close to the area.

Richard Adams wrote Watership Down. What's with this Rory Emerald stuff? I've seen all kinds of stuff attributed to him -- but only on Yahoo Answers. If this is an in joke -- I'm out.

Wasn't that their main hangout? You know, down as in a synonym for 'field' or meadow, and Watership happened to be the name of it?

I can't remember, it was a long time since I read it. And it was utterly weird.

this could be totally wrong because i have nt read the book in like 10 years, but I think I remember it being a place in the book. Either where they are trying to get, trying to leave, or that horrible place with the fascist rabbits.
