I've already read Tolkien's Lord of the rings and Robert Jordan's Wheel of time, and sf series such as Frank Herbert's Dune or Isaac Asimov's Foundation. I like series with a detailed and complex fantasy world whether if it's set on an fictional earth or in space and i also enjoy political intrigue, plotting, scheming which are present in all series except LOTR. So do you have any suggestions for me?

"Kingdoms of Thorn & Bone" by Greg Keyes [4 books] - fantasy, fast-paced, quite intricate with tigtly woven plot that doesn't loose a beat until a very satisfying ending.

"Void" by Peter F Hamilton [trilogy] - high fantasy meets very advanced, [thousands of years in the future] scifi. Great storylines, a few genuine surprises, excellent read.

"Memory, Sorrow & Thorn" by Tad Williams [4 books] - high fantasy, quite traditional with a touch of Tolkienesque but a bit more earthy, shades of grey characters that you really get involved with and a neatly woven plot. A great favourite of mine.

"Mistborn" by Brandon Sanderson [trilogy] - from the guy who finished the final WoT books when RJ died, his own work is compelling. A rather novel take on magic, with surprising enemies and heroes and include one of the best magical action sequences in fantasy that I've ever read. Definitely recommended.

"Nightangel" by Brent Weeks [trilogy] - fast paced fantasy with a good plot en likeable characters.

"A Song of Ice & Fire" by George RR Martin [7 projected books, 5th book out now in July '11] - excellent and intricate fantasy story with lots of political intrigue with a few surprises. Unfortunately the series is not complete and the author is notorious for the very long waiting periods between books [years]. HBO just now completed the first book in a 10-episode show that was popular enough that they've already started shooting the 2nd book i.e. 2nd season. The series is titled after the 1st book i.e. "A Game of Thrones".

I would recommend Percy Jackson and The Olympians series. If you've seen the movie, than you've got an idea of what the story is all about. But even so, the novel is a whole LOT better than the movie.

The series is completed and have an on going sequel by the name of Heroes of Olympus, which began in a new character's (also demigod) POV. Here's the summary:

---

Jason has a problem. He doesn’t remember anything before waking up on a school bus holding hands with a girl. Apparently she’s his girlfriend Piper, his best friend is a kid named Leo, and they’re all students in the Wilderness School, a boarding school for “bad kids.” What he did to end up here, Jason has no idea—except that everything seems very wrong.

Piper has a secret. Her father has been missing for three days, and her vivid nightmares reveal that he’s in terrible danger. Now her boyfriend doesn’t recognize her, and when a freak storm and strange creatures attack during a school field trip, she, Jason, and Leo are whisked away to someplace called Camp Half-Blood. What is going on?

Leo has a way with tools. His new cabin at Camp Half-Blood is filled with them. Seriously, the place beats Wilderness School hands down, with its weapons training, monsters, and fine-looking girls. What’s troubling is the curse everyone keeps talking about, and that a camper’s gone missing. Weirdest of all, his bunkmates insist they are all—including Leo—related to a god.

Basically all the books that Riordan has ever written. Hope that helps!

the mortal insturments - cassandra clare (shadow hunters taking down all kinds of creatures)

the infernal devices - cassandra clare (main character is a shape shifter who can take on the form of any kind of creature to destroy them)

A song of Ice and Fire - george r.r martin (game of thrones) --> based on a tv show on HBO, it's a whole made up world about how there's lords in the south, north east and west, and behind the wall lies beasts and monsters, it also introduces us to a lord that carries the blood of a dragon and who restores dragons back to life since most people thought they were gone and extinct. Really cool/suspenseful story)

Creatura by Nely Cab

It has awesome reviews and ratings (amazon & bn.com)

The story is unique and draws you in. A lot of my friends have read it and they love it. Here's the summary from amazon:

When seventeen year-old Isis Martin is having trouble sleeping due to perturbing dreams of a horrific growling beast, she decides to confront her fear. But what Isis discovers is something other than a menacing entity. The human-like creature offers Isis assurance that he is not a figment of her imagination. Unwilling to accept his avowal, Isis sets his words to contest by asking the entity to prove himself - a dare, he readily welcomes. It is in her dreams that Isis innocently stumbles upon the silent existence of the divine lineage of those that man has long forgotten. In a quaint town, deep in south Texas, this story leads Isis onto the path of impermissible love and captivating life-changing truths. Isis Martin's journey is sure to leave any reader ravenous for more.
