my summer is kind of boring and i'd like to get some books to read instead of doing nothing. i've read the book "where the red fern grows" and its the best book i've read so far. i don't really like books about animals, but i want books with a good storyline and lots of details like it. also i might want to get some anime comics from the library too. i don't like violent manga like naruto/bleach/one piece/etc. i want manga with romance/soap opera-ish story.

Oh, where the red fern grows... it was so sad in the end, I cried... haha! Anyways, manga and anime! Anime... Ouran High School Host Club! Love it! It's super funny! And also, Clannad! Funny! Bleach is funny... but you don't like it... Manga... you could go on mangafox.com and click on manga directory near the top. then click show options and just check the boxes you want the book to have. in your case, i would suggest romance, drama, and shoujo and you'll get lots of results...

Twilight is a good chapter book and my fave book out of the whol series is Eclipse, Can't wait till Breaking Dawn! Harry Potter was awesome but that was when I was 9 or 10... so I can't remember much. Oh, I loved this book I read a couple months ago, it's well written but it's a murder mystery. It's called "And Then There Were None" by Agatha Christie... that's all I can think of now. I was able to understand it and I'm 12 too. Oh! I also liked the book Avalon High by Meg Cabot!

Um.... that's all I can think of at the moment... oh well! Hoped i helped!

Here are just a few that I think you might like:

1. The Percy Jackson Series by Rick Riordan. The first one is called "The Lighting Thief" The books are like Harry Potter, but with Greek Mythology! They are amazing!

2. "Twilight" (and the rest in that series) by Stephanie Meyers. They are a horror love story! Very girly since it's point of view is from a teenage girl, so it doesn't get too scary! Very good!

3. ANY of the Harry Potter books! BY J.K. Rowling. Of couse it's better to read them in order to get the whole arch of the plot. If you haven't read them by now, shame on you!

4."Love That Dog" by Sharon Creech. This book is one of the best books I have EVER read. Its about a boy and his dog but its told in poem form. It's a short read, so that's a plus.

5. ALL of Sharon Creech's books. They are so excellent! "Walk Two Moons" is just one if the many, many great novels she has writen.

6. The Lemony Snicket books! Dark, but very comedic!

7. "Down The Rabbit Hole" by Peter Abrahams. It's a mystery thatinvolves theater, soccer, and a murder! There is also a sequel!

8. "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" by Jeff Kinney. A bit on the lower side of the vocabulary level, but the funniness makes up for it!!

9. MARK TWAIN. Any of his books are great! Huck Finn and Tom Saywer are some great American Classics. BUT I advise that you use audio books for his work. The language gets hard to read b/c he uses different dialects for the characters so the words are spelt differently.

Those are pretty much my favorite books! If you want to get through the books quickly, use the audio books! They are such a great way to hear the story and let you do other things that don't take thought like playing tetris or cleaning or painting or even just lying down after a long day! Hope that helps!
