Ares in the Lightning Thief?

Question

I understand that Luke was attempting to get Zeus's bolt to Kronos, but could someone please explain how Ares got tangled up in all this? I'd be very greatful if you could just explain why and how Luke, Kronos, and Ares were all connected. Thank you.

He got in it because luke lured ares into giving the bolt because it would cause a war and of course ares is the god of war

It is pretty simple. After to bolt was stolen, Zeus sent the best trackers and hunters in Olympus to find it. Luke was suppose to bring the bolt to the Underworld, on Kronos' orders, but was caught by Ares first.



With Kronos's help, Luke brainwashed Ares to think that stealing the bolt was his idea, order to start a war in Olympus. So Ares thought that he was making a pre-arranged meeting with Luke. He thought he was taking possession of the bolt to set up another half-blood to take the bolt to the Underworld after tensions rise higher.



So Luke is already working for Kronos, and they used Ares as a puppet to save their plan after Ares caught Luke.

Ares caught Luke with the bolt after he was sent by Zeus to go look for it and then he started getting dreams from Kronos with orders to keep the bolt until Percy came along and then he had to give the bolt to Percy

well, Ares is the war god, and he hated Percy. Luke is the traitor and wants Kronos to be reborn. Luke makes Ares get the three major gods in war, until Percy gets Zeus his bolt just in time.

And yes, if Luke gives the bolt to Kronos, Kronos will get power and be reborn quicker and stronger.

luke convinced ares to help him make zeus, poseidon, and hades mad at each other by helping him get percy in trouble. ares is the god of war, he would love to see the big three fight over a "prank" he did. luke didnt tell him about kronos though btw. if you still dont get it, message me and ill explain in more detail than i can here...!!

i think that they should have put ares and clarssie. they should have left them in the movie. if they r thinking of making the next movie then they need those characters. i am going to see the movie for the 7:10 show to day. hope that the movie is still good even though the main villein is not there.

I thought Luke was trying to get Zeus's bolt to Hades. I don't remember Aries being involved.
