I finished writing a small book in Microsoft word. Now I want to create an index. It looks very complicated with MSWord. Is there any free software that will help me create an index for a MS Word document?

To answer your question - Yes there is free software and there is pay software.

The free software is Index Generator by http://www.openviewdesign.com - it will give a list of all words in the book and you can select the ones you want to include. There are many more options for references and heading and the like.

1. To the inventoried in a text "column point down option pattern set to title. At the same time also can change the WORD problem and size, but to use the style for title can. If you use WORD document in writing the heading styles, the first step slightly.

2. With outline way view , open the document structure view, with turn left and right arrows adjustment Outlines for good level appropriate directory.

3. The cursor to the top.

4. Insert the index and directories, some directory tags.

5. check, finish

Use the 123 or the dots bottom and make chapters or a general idea for the parts you want to divide and then put the title of that chapter by the 123 or dot.
