This book is a feast. Savor the taste of each word. Swallow all the tiny morsels of knowledge and let yourself be swept into another world. Preface to the original book of Bambi that I read almost 52 years ago.

Epigraphy (Greek, ἐπιγραφή — "written upon") is the study of inscriptions or epigraphs engraved into stone or other durable materials, or cast in metal, the science of classifying them as to cultural context and date, elucidating them and assessing what conclusions can be deduced from them. A person studying this is called an epigrapher or epigraphist.

It was in the book "Plain Speakng, an Oral Biography of Harry S. Truman" by Merle Miller.

For your enjoyment and your character - Love, Dad.

My dad was a firm believer in Truman's "The Buck Stops Here" philosophy and in personal responsibility. The book was one of my college graduation presents in 1975.

" To myself, without whose inspired and tireless efforts this book would not have been possible."

Although I must admit that my first dedication to my son (written about 18 years ago) was quite beautiful. He gets all gooey whenever he reads it LOL ....Pax - C.
