Marion Zimmer Bradley, order of Mists of Avalon series?

In what order is it best to read Marion Zimmer Bradley books? i'm reading The Mists Of Avalon at the moment.
Also does anyone know any other good Arthurian legend novels, preferably with Avalon and the Goddess in them, and preferably written by a historian.

I adored these books. I also liked Mary Stewart's books but they don't have the goddess focus.
