I need some help figuring out what this quote means. It would be greatly appreciated if you could go into some detail, but if not its okay. Its from a book (The curious incident of the dog in the night time) and the person saying this quote has asperger's syndrome:

Quote: "A lie is when you say something happened which didn't happen. But there is only ever one thing which happened at a particular time and a particular place."

-thanks

i think he's basically saying there is only one truth and everything else is a lie.

maybe the truth is specific?

good luck.

hi was from sherlock holmes story, sorry not sure which. the thing the dog did in the night was that he did not bark.this showed the detective that it knew who was sneeking in to the house in the night.cant see how it has anything to do with aspergers or anything else .just a clue in a holmes story..try arthur connan doyle.wrote a bunch. good make ya think stories.luck bye

i think its means when you have one of those puzzles that you can tell what the picture is going to be before you put it together then you have solved it. So hes saying that you can work out who killed the dog before you've finished reading! I think thats probably the best book i've ever read by the way :) hope you enjoy it x

Well, I guess it means that like if someone hit someone in the face at 12:45:16 PM In the backyard of their house, they can't have also hugged them at the same time and place. Pretty straight forward really.
