Read the Lemony Snicket books! Totally good! I love them.
"The Bad Beggining" is the first book of the 12. they are really good to read for a project or report.

The Children of the Amulet series by L. M. Quinpool
There are three out currently and more apparently to come.
Available are Volume 1: Fight for Chrystalina, Volume 2: Battle of the Empire, Volume 3: Hope and Victory.
They can be found at Canada Books Online.com. More information on the website below.

We study Thomas the Tank Engine, Sheep in a Jeep(there is an entire sequence by way of Nancy Shaw), Grumpy Bunny by way of Justine Korman Fontes, Brown undergo Brown undergo by way of Eric Carle(maximum of his books are large for this age), Dr Seuss, Curious George, Little Quack substitute right into a cute e book. Our library does instruments on the subject of the library(books jointly with Lola on the Library), farm, animals, the zoo, jobs, mommy, daddy, acquaintances. We many times have a sprint interest or song to initiate and end too. Skinamarinky Dinky Doo(from the previous Elephant teach) is exciting as is Shake the Sillies Out.

Some one else has asked this and has some good responses.
I would add to what you have Terry Pratchett. You are probably beginning to look outside the kiddies section now, so how about starting on some Douglas Adams?
If you like fantasy David Eddings is fast paced gripping and has a reasonably low difficulty factor. Start with Pawn of Prophesy and work your way through.

J.K Rowling's Harry Potter series is good. Most Judy Blume books are, too. Also, James Howe's Bunnicula books are pretty entertaining.

Try "Island of the Blue Dolphins." I read this in late elementary school and it's really a fun, quick book. It's about an Indian girl who manages to live alone on this island - how she survives and finds meaning there.

Beverly Cleary - she wrote all the ones that I was reading at that age. I think R.L. Stine writes for that age group as well.
