Question:
B&A: How would your main character cope if...?

...one of his/her friends switched over to the other side?

BQ: Somebody invents the following devices, but you are only allowed to own one of them. Which one will you choose and why?

1# A pill that completely cures writer's block. As soon as you pop it into your mouth, ideas flow into your brain faster than you can write them down. Mind you, they're very good ideas too. Once you think of something to write about, the pill provides you with characters and a plot that feels as though they're really yours. Anyone can take this pill- regardless of age, time of day, etc.
Every time you take one of these pills, two weeks will be cut from your lifespan.

2# A magic telephone that allows you a 1-hour conversation with your characters per day. You have the choice of which character you'd like to speak to. However, you will get a massive headache every time you use this phone. The more important the character on the other end is, the more your head will hurt. Just imagine how a conversation with your main character will be like.

3# A magic bed that allows you to visit the setting of your story when you're supposed to be dreaming. You are allowed to choose which nights you'd like to spend visiting. The visits are real - for example, if you stole something during your visit, you'll wake up to find yourself clutching the stolen item in your hands.
Drawbacks:
~You'll wake up in a horrible mood and snap at everyone who tries to talk to you for the rest of the day.
~You may not verbally communicate with anybody during your visit. Doing so will result in a $100 fine.

In my current story there is no real sides and my MC's best friend is the one who got the MC into real deep trouble. In the story I have planned next the MC would probably kill the traitor slowly and painfully, invoking the powers of darkness, chaos, death, fire, earth and spirit (the elements that are seen as "evil" in comparison to the polar opposites (ie light and dark)) to make sure the soul of the traitor was tormented for eternity. Night Heart does not like traitors, nor does he know mercy.

On the BQ you can keep all three, I would not use any. The reasons are as follows :-

1# I would not like the idea that the story was not truly my own and although I do not hold much cost against my life, others in the future may do and therefore it is not worth the drawback.

2# Most my characters I can give body form within my mind (I have a very visual mind) so I don't need the conversations, also I get enough head aches already to want that as a drawback.

3# As with 2# I can create the world in my mind, ok its not real but I can converse with the inhabitants and I don't get in a foul mood.

my characer would be surprised, angry and unsure. She would go on a spurt of rage, and after this she's lock all her emotions in, shut herself in her dorm/away from everybody and cry, trying to figure out why, how and when.

BQ: Hmmm, this was tough. All of them were pretty cool, except for the drawbacks, of course. I'd probably choose the pill because I am an avid sufferer of writer's block. But I'd only take it, like, twice. Thats all. Yikes. That scary! The pill, though, could be a set-back in modern society because anyone who actually finished the book would probably get it published and that would make writers before the pill get rejected even though they worked harder than the other people. It would be bad for buisness, but cool anyways.

What would your answers be if I had asked this question?

Happy Holidays! :)

Well there isn't exactly any 'other side' in any of my stories. But if there was he'd hate them forever.

BQ: I would definitely go for the telephone. That sounds awesome. I wouldn't want a lot of ideas lol, I've got more than enough already, and I don't care about visiting the places if i can't talk to people.

Mine would be "yeah well f'uck you....and in the back of their mind they will be like gee I miss th ol' bastard but time to move on."

Then they would hate the person for a while then ignore them.

But i'm not writing a book so this is hypothetically speaking if I was writing a book.

BQ:

Oh definitely #1.

Why? I want to write songs and 2 weeks is nothing. My songs will be more like screeching weasel songs not like the green day album "american idiot" with a story line and all.

I just need a way to put my feelings into writings but I can't...it drives me crazy.

The second and third options are completely useless for me.

Depends on if he was super close with that friend or not. Or if he saw it coming or not. If they were close, he would probably have some of the following emotions: Anger, shock, pain (mentally), grief/sadness, loss of hope, lack of understanding towards others, lack of empathy towards others, etc.

If they weren't that close, then probably just anger, shock, lack of understanding towards others, sadness, and probably more.

BQ: I pick... #2: Telephone. I just won't talk to anyone else that day (so I won't be super snappy because of the headache, and so the headache won't increase), or else I'll take an Advil or every three-to-four days, max.

Though number 3's first side affect sounds like me every morning XD

My main character would be devastated considering that one of her friends almost got killed because of the people that are on the other side.

BQ: I think that I would have to go with #2. Even though I really hate headaches, that one really lets you get into the characters mind and learn more than you would really want to know.

Confused at first, like why? Then mad, just so mad that they'll throw a fit. Then sad, like what now? What am I supposed to do without my friend? Confused and Sad. Mad that the friend left the main character.

BQ: Those are very creative ideas :P

But I'll have to go with number two

She'd be hurt but then get over it. One of her "friends" does become the enemy, so it happens and Rayna urges everyone to kill her, but she doesn't get killed (gosh Mathew, why couldn't you just slit your sister's throat?

BQ: Definitely not the first because I'm terrified of death. As for the second, many of my character's are dead, and Levi would just lecture me about his feelings for Rayna and how he never got to express them and Mathew would just fill my head with all the palace chatter and problems, so I'd get a headache not just from the call. So I'll go with 3. I am snappy sometimes anyways! And there's more to communicating then just speech, I could write, gesture, whatever.

My main character, Missy, would probably act like she didn't care. That's what she always does when things aren't going her way. Inside, though, she's be wondering why and all that jazz. She might also try to convince herself that her friend was just acting and was really gathering information for her.

Hm I think that Klarene would probably feel pretty betrayed, but also mad at herself for even letter herself be close to someone. after she got over that she would probably give em the finger and go back to whatever she was up to before :P

BQ: #3 I tend to be snappy anyways and who needs to talk? I would be happy to just hang out in that awesome world...

Well... Ariel herself actually ends up switching sides, so if she was upset at all she'd be a hypocrite.

BQ: Definitely #3.

I'm not saying that Glendeyn is better than Earth or anything but... Damn it'd be cool to see Ezekiel in the flesh.

My character would first be confused like 'Why would she do that?', then mad, and finally sad.

#3! I'll learn sign language!
