This is a Victorian book, but I still reckon it is one of the funniest I have read: The Wrong Box by Robert Louis Stevenson and Lloyd Osbourne. Give it a go.

Any of the Discworld novels by Terry Pratchett. Great satire, very funny.

Try Reaper Man, Pyramids... any of them really.

Terry Pratchett's books are witty, and are written with a "masculine" perspective. I thought "Mort" was funny, and there are others in the DiscWorld series you might like.

Hogfather by Terry Pratchett is one of the most hilarious novels I've read in my life. It's about a crazy assassin who goes by the name of Mr. Jonathan Teatime (pronounced 'Teh-ah-tim-eh', thank you) and his quest to kill the Hogfather. Meanwhile, since the Hogfather is missing, Death has to take over his duties.

Any of Terry Pratchett's Discworld Novels are hilarious. You really need to look into them. The characters are the best (You have Sam Vimes, Commander of the Ankh-Morpork City Watch who is also a Duke which isn't fitting at all since he doesn't deal well with frills and things like that, Lord Vetinari who enjoys puzzles and the like, Mr. Teatime, Miss Susan, the list goes on and on!)

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams is absolutely hilarious too. Try getting The Ultimate Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy because it has all of the novels in it~.

'A Dirty Job'

'Coyote Blue'

'Practical Demonkeeping'

...all by Christopher Moore, who combines satirical views of life with out-and-out funny, along with a dash of 'maybe' serious.

'CosmiComics' by Italo Calvino... an older book, yet what an always timely and amusing take on creation itself, from growing universes to growing legs. Calvino is a very fine writer, and it shows up well in this slim volume.

I really enjoyed Hammerhead Ranch Motel by Tim Dorsey.

Christopher Moore and Carl Hiaasen both write light, amusing novels. Hiaasen's characters are a bit one-dimensional (and he seems to have a strange fascination with older-man-younger-woman relationships), but I usually enjoy the stories.

I really enjoyed a book called Plum Island by Nelson DeMille. It is a mystery and the main character, is an irascible detective.

Here is a review:
