These are some of the book series I own and love, and am looking for other books that might be similar - I'm specifically looking for fantasy books, really.

If you have any suggestions, I'd appreciate the author name, name of the series, the number of books in the series, and one line summing up what the series is about or includes. Thanks!

The Gone series by Michael Grant - everyone over the age of 15 disappears and those left in the new World have to struggle to survive. Meanwhile some of the kids are developing strange powers and tension erupts as groups are formed. 6 books

Noughts and Crosses series by Malorie Blackman - Two bestfriends Callum & Sephy try to survive the racial divide which is starting to ruin their lives and their friendship. (amazing, intense and action filled series) 4 books

The Twilight Series - 4 books

Cirque Du Freak by Darren Shan - Two boys visit a freak show that's come to town. Darren is amazed by an act with a spider called Madam Octa but when his friend gets bitten his circumstances change in ways that are life changing. It's a series but I haven't read all of the books, I've read 2 of them. You should give it a go, I enjoyed reading both books.

The Skulduggery Pleasant Series - In the first book, a young girl discovers a whole new world right before her eyes when she meets a very interesting skeleton - O_O - man called Mr Skulduggery Pleasant.

I can tell you are into fantasy--both modern fantasy and the good-ol' lord-of-the-rings-style fantasy. I would recommend the Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini, a great series that I have enjoyed for many years. Another is called the "Curse Worker" series. It has a couple racy suggestions, but overall is an *amazing* story!

Also, I can see you have read the Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit. There is a prequel to both called the Silmarillion, where Sauron--with all his power--is merely a lesser evil in an evil council.
