Okay, before I write a recommendation....

Don't. Read. Twilight.

The first book was good, the second was okay, the third was awful, and the fourth was complete bullcrap.

So don't read it.

1) Private (Series) by Kate Brian (9) [Until Book 5, anyway]

The books chronicle the rise of ambitious teenager Reed Brennan, the series' narrator, as she becomes a member of her new school's elite dorm—composed of a glamorous yet disparate group of teens known as the Billings Girls. As the series progresses, several matters surrounding mystery, morality, and romance arise.

*Only books 1 through 4. The rest just kind of drag out plots.

2) Spy High (9)

An English book series by A. J. Butcher about a high school for secret agents in training. (If you live in America, you can only read books 1 through 5. 6 is only availible in England :'[)

*Not much romance. Well, in the first 5 that I read, anyway. But a lot of action. And mystery.

3) Anything from The Tudor series by Philippa Gregory. (9.5)

They're a little long, historical fiction, and set for an audience of adults, but the books are truly amazing. A touch of action, a hint of bittersweetness, and a load of romance. The Other Boylen Girl (Mary and Anne Boylen), and The Virgin's Lover (Queen Elizabeth and Robert Dudley, with side appearences from the tragic Amy Robsart).

And, oh my god, yes, 13 Reasons Why. The darkest, saddest story I've ever read.

I'll assume you read Ender's Game, too. Those are the best two in that series.

Pride and Prejudice... any book by Jane Austen...10

She writes what seem to be books of 'manners' of her time (the 19th century) but are actually scathing satires about why a person doesn't have to be married to someone she doesn't really love. The books also show how silly it is to keep a woman (or girl) in a position where her dowry or skills with an embroidery needle are the ways to judge her. Austen was one of the first who published books under her own name that challenged those old beliefs in satirical and humorous ways.

Sophie Kinsella books...8.5

She wrote the "Shopaholic" series, another amusing look at how women can be. My favorite (as recommended by an adult daughter) remains "The Undomesticated Goddess" - where a female lawyer must 'disappear' and does so by taking a position as domestic help. Romance included in all.

Nora Roberts, aka J.D. Robb...9

Her romance books sell at the rate of twenty-six a day world-wide. She can write very well and keeps up with modern female trends. 'J.D. Robb' is the pen name she uses to write "romantic police procedurals" - which are indeed romantic and full of action.

Chuck Palahniuk...10

I like "Fight Club" very much. A lot of mystery, a love triangle, some violence and also some humor. He wrote other very good books too, "Choke" and more. His writing style is minimalistic, if you like that as much as I do. Some call it "noir."

Well MOST of the girls i know loved the Twilight series I don't know if you hav read them

First Book:

Twilight- Its about a girl who moves to a new town called Forks. She goes to the new high school and sees this super cool looking guy who reacts wierdly to her. Curiosity makes her find out that he and his family are vampires, but they are Vegetarians i.e they drink only animal blood. Its a real interesting read. It's got super cool action and romance. Totally safe read for teenagers like us.

Rating: 9/10

Second Book:

Eclipse- This second series involves the separation of the two lovers. The girl Bella and the Vampire Edward. It's the sad part. But the the best friend of the girls comes in and a love triangle ensues. Its totally a girlish part I don't like it much.

Rating: 6/10

Third Book:

New Moon- In this part the Vampire and the human meet again. The action cames back in full scale

Rating: 9/10

Fourth and fianl Book:

Breaking Dawn- This is the best part of the whole series. In this part Bella marries Edward the vampire and can u imagine Bella becomes pregnant and Edward makes her a vampire. The most action packed of all the books. Its really great.

Rating: 10/10

You should read all the books Serioulsy they are great.

But one of the human whose mind has been taken over doesn't give in and is still present there but can't control her body and falls in love with the person who the human girl loved. Its really a great read for girls. It has an emotional love story and it also has a lot of action. I have read it 4 times and can read it again.

The Wind on Fire series:

Wind Singer - William Nicholson

Slaves of the Mastery - William Nicholson

Fire Song - William Nicholson

This series is absolutely fantastic and has a remarkable amount of similarity to the Hunger Games. I highly recommend it, I've read it numerous times. Its about a pair of brother and sister twins who live in a city of different districts all controlled by the capital. Patrons of the city are subjected to constant testing to determine their place in society, leading to massive inequality amongst the districts. Kestral and Bowman are determined to break this cycle of systemic abuse and launch into the desert to try and find their mythical homeland. It has plenty of romance and even a star crossed lover theme. They were such capitvating books I can't help but recommend them.

For a young adult/teen Meg Cabot's young adult books. She is the best author. Also best selling. She wrote tons of books including the Princess Diaries (Movies based on her books), Mediator (upcoming movie), 1-800-Missing (TV show based on her books), All-American Girl (up coming movie), Jinx, Airhead and more. She has adult books too, so you can grow with her.

You said you have read Nicholas Sparks books that are now movies. Try any of his other books, The Lucky One is being made into a movie right now, and any of his other books are just as good as the others. The Lucky One is about a former marine who finds a picture of a woman while overseas and she becomes his good luck charm. He becomes obsessed with her and ends up meeting her and the two fall in love. It is an awesome book I would give it an 8.
