I am doing a report on Johnny Depp for my english class. One of my sources is an IMDb biography. I'm having trouble finding the information for my citation.

The Johnny Depp biography: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000136/bio

Citation layout:
Author Last Name, First Name. "Title of Page." Name of Web Site. Publisher or Sponsor, Date of Publication. Web. Day Month Year accsessed. .

Thanks so much.

It's a pretty accurate site, actually. Whenever changes are made they're checked and can be reset if someone tries to sabotage it.

Regardless, when citing, especially with websites where you don't necessarily have every bit of that information, you just omit it. So you don't put NA (as college grad said over here) you just put the information you do have in the correct order and format.

This is good for future reference so you're not ripping your hair out.

It's going to be very difficult to properly cite from a source like IMDB because anyone with an account can edit pages. Also, because anyone can make edits, this probably be considered an unreliable source by your teacher. Each of those Wanting to use IMDB for a source is like using Wikipedia - the information is probably true, but could also easily have false information.

There's no way to properly attribute who wrote it because it will change each time someone edits anything. The title would be

If you really want it:

N.A. "Biography for Johnny Depp." IMDB. N.A., N.A., Web. 29 March 2011.

Having to cite that much information as "not available" will instantly flag it as unreliable by your teacher.
