I loved The Hunger Games, Harry Potter, Uglies and Twilight. Here are some other great books. I'll summarize them so you'll know what they're about.

1. Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead is about Lissa, a Moroi Princess, a member of the elite vampire royalty, and Rose, a Dhampir guardian sworn to protect Lissa to the death. Years ago, they ran away from the elite St. Vladimir's Academy, and now the school's guardians are after them, determined to bring them back to a school filled with secrets, clan loyalties, and a deathly fear of the Striogoi: vampires who have become immortal and seek to destroy all of the royal family.

2. Stephanie Meyer also has another book, The Host. It's about parasitic "souls" that take over humans body's, and one girl that resists the takeover of her parasite, a "soul" called Wanderer, in order to find her brother, and her true love.

3. Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater- As a child, Grace was saved from a freak wolf attack by a wolf with startlingly yellow eyes. Now, he's back in her life, but in a different way, bringing with him hidden truth, startling clarity, and unintended consequences.

4. Wake by Lisa McMann- Janie has been getting sucked into people's dreams for as long as she can remember. Then she falls into a gruesome nightmare, one that chills her to the bone. For the first time, Janie is more than a witness to someone else's twisted psyche. She is a participant....

5.The Maximum Ride series by James Patterson is about teens that are part human, part avian, on the run from not only the scientists who created them, but terrifying monsters as well.

6. The Gone series by Michael Grant is about what happens when suddenly, in a sleepy suburban town, all the adults disappear, and the teens start developing powers.

7. Divergent by Veronica Roth takes place in the future, in which everyone is sorted into a society. The book follows 16 year old Beatrice as she deals not only with choosing a faction, but surviving initiation.

8. Night World by L.J. Smith is about a secret society of mythical creatures where humans are held in contempt. To tell a human about the Night World, or to fall in love with a human is an excuse for the leaders of the Night World to hunt you down.

9. The Mortal Instruments Series by Cassandra Clare-- Clary, a regular teen, is thrust into a strange new world when she witnesses a murder committed by three teens, covered in strange markings. Even more strange: The teens act like Clary shouldn't be able to see them.

10. The Pretty Little Liars series by Sara Shepard-- Four girls, who after the disappearance of their BFF, Alison, are all faced with threatening texts about there deepest secrets-- secrets only Alison could know.

11. Nightshade by Andrea Cremer is about Calla, a half wolf half human guardian, who's purpose in life is to protect the Keepers. Her whole life has been planned out for her, including her mating to the gorgeous and confident Ren.

12. Matched by Ally Condie is about a futuristic society where everything is controlled by the government, including marriage. When one girl's marriage test results are inconclusive, it changes everything.

13. Delirium by Lauren Oliver is about a society in which love is a disease. Society has been reconstructed around this idea, and a vaccination has been developed. Right before Lena gets her vaccination, she falls in love.

14. The Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan is about half greek god and half human kids, who, because they're demi gods, are constantly being hunted by monsters.

15. The Cirque Du Freak series is the most original vampire series ever. It's about a boy tricked into becoming a vampire, who's dragged into an immortal war between the Vampires, and the Vampaneze.

16. The Summoning is about Chloe, a girl who can see and talk to ghosts. When after an incident, she's diagnosed with schizophrenia and sent to Lyle group home for Troubled Teens, she doesn't realize that Lyle house has a dark past, and the residents aren't what they seem.

17. The Forbidden Game by L.J. Smith is a super scary, but amazingly romantic paranormal romance. In it, Jenny is plunged into a different world, where Julian rules as the Shadow Prince. Throughout the book, she struggles to choose between long time boyfriend Tom, and seductive, powerful, mysterious, alluring Julian. Meanwhile, if she and her friends can't face their fears in time, they may never return to Earth.

18. The Vampire Diaries series by L.J. Smith is a great series. It's about Elena, a high school student who feels an intense connection to new student Stefan. Then horrible things start happening, and Stefan is a suspect. When Elena confronts Stefan, nothing can prepare her for his shocking secret, or the startling truth.

I have read a couple that "who lives in a pineapple..." mentioned.

"Fever 1793" was about an outbreak of incurable sickness, and the life of a young girl whose entire family catches and dies from it.

"Certain Slant of Light" is a romance, about ghosts. They take over the bodies of high schoolers so that they can be together.

"Th1rteen R3asons why" was an amazing book that made you want to cry almost. A girl commits suicide, and she leaves behind 13 tapes for 13 people--the people who did things in her life that made her decide to commit suicide. The main character is Clay (i think? it's been a while) and he wonders why he is one of her reasons, as he had a crush on her!

Other than that, i would recommend these:

"The Name of the Wind" and "Wise Mans Fear" by Patrick rothfuss

900 page books that you absolutely won't put down. Following the story of young Kvothe as he moves through a beautiful and fascinating world filled with magic, science, adversary, and romance.

"SnakeCharm" by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes

A war divides the people of the Snakes and of the Avians. These people were blessed with second forms--ranging from sparrows to hawks. The war ends when the prince of the snakes and the princess of the avians decide to make peace by marriage. Will their people follow their lead?

"The Bartimaeus Trilogy" by Jonathan Stroud

this trilogy follows a youthful but promising magician. He has decided to get revenge on a particular man who embarassed him greatly, and so he summons Bartimaeus--a great Djinn that is difficult to control.

"The Boy Who Couldn't Die" by William Sleator

A boy visits a woman who grants him immortality. He tests the ability out, trying to drown himself and getting attacked by a shark. But now, the woman is trying to kill him. He confides in a friend of his, who helps keep him alive, but the attacks are growing stronger and more despierate--and his friend has a secret of her own.

Try Nokosee: Rise of the New Seminole (http://bit.ly/Nokosee) and its sequel Nokosee & Stormy: Love & Bullets (http://amzn.to/fqOoph). Both are written from a 17-year-old girl's POV. A coming-of-age tale with lots of action, adventure and romance layered over a twisted save-the-environment plea.

Cherry by Mary Karr. A memoir about teens, sex, drugs and growing up in rural Texas as told through the gritty, beautiful prose of one of America's best writers having taught at Harvard and currently teaching as the Peck Professor of English Literature at Syracuse University. It's a book every teen girl should read. If the opening paragraph doesn't do it for you, nothing will (you can read it on the Amazon link below). I've also supplied you a link to her Harper Collins website where you can see the author describe her life in a revealing teaser for her new book "Lit."

The Liar's Club by Mary Karr. Another moving memoir recounting her earlier years (you should probably read this one first and then Cherry).

http://bit.ly/LiarsClub

The Virgin Suicides by Jeffrey Eugenides. A moving story inspired by true events about the suicides of five teenage sisters as told from the viewpoint (for the most part) of randy teenage boys who try to explain it all.

I Never Promised You A Rose Garden by Joanne Greenberg. A critically appraised and touching semi-autobiographical story of a 16-year-old girl battling schizophrenia in a mental hospital.
