are there any good western books.......?

Question

that should be avalible in any library,
it can be fiction or none-fiction.
and i mean western as in the wild-west (cowboys-indians-settlers-owtlaws-ect.)

Books by Louis L'Amour or Zane Grey, really are great. One of my favorite authors is Cameron Judd, he happens to live near me but was my favorite author before I found that out and got to meet him. He has a great trilogy called the Tennessee Frontier Trilogy, the Overmountain Men, The Border Men, and the Canebrake Men. If you are a hardcore western fan he has those too, Corrigan, Snow Sky, and Mr. Little John just to name a few.

There is a new book out called Many A River, by Elmer Kelton that I really enjoyed

Country singer, Willie Nelson just released a western called A Tale Out Of Luck thats pretty good

Western writers like Louis L'Amour bases his stories on historic fact, and the writing is Geographically accurate. Other writers like Matt Braun, William W. Johnstone, Ralph Compton, Ralph Cotton, Will Henry, Lauren Paine, Will McClellen, Gene Shelton, Justin Ladd, and Jake Logan(a little risque) all are excellent writers, of course it depends on your own taste.

Anything by Louise L'Amour. Most are series so just start with the first book. Stephen King's Gunslinger crosses genres but has a really western feel.

The Lonesome Gods by Louis L'Amour will probably be there because the author is so famous. It was the first book I read by him, and I like it.

The Snowblind Moon by John Byrne Cooke may or may not be there, but I think it should be. I really enjoyed it.
