My nephew is 14 and likes to read so I always buy him books cos he has everything else he wants and needs. I am struggling though to find good books for his age group, any recommendations please?

I am an author of childrens books and i have done some work in secondary schools recently, trying to get teenagers to read more. it wasn't easy and after throwing almost every single book i could think of at this one particuarly stubborn kid i found ANTHONY HOROWITZ. it was amazing. this kid that refused to read anything before came back to me a month later having read the entire ALEX RIDER series! (6 full books!)



If you are going to give any bokk to a teenager, make it an anothny horowitz! (trust me!)

Start him off with Lady Chatterley's Lover. I read that when I was about 14! That was when it was still banned!

Perhaps you could get him a Barnes and Noble gift card. That takes the pressure off of you and he gets to pick out his own books.
