Do you like to write short stories and poems?

Short stories, yes. Poems, no. How much do you pay? What rights are you using? Do I retain my copyright? What prizes does your writing contest offer?



Also, your current contest winner is using tenses as a "Tripping Hazard." And whoever wrote it has no idea how to format dialogue. There's no dramatic tension; nothing actually happens in that first scene that makes me want to keep reading. If this is an example of the quality of writing on the site, I'll pass.



EDIT: Nice thumbs down there; I love how people get butthurt when you point out flaws in their ideas. Cupcake, those are questions that serious writers ask about sites that want to post our work, and if you can't deal with them, then you shouldn't have a writing site. And if you want people to take your writing site seriously, you should not have a "contest winner" that is riddled with obvious errors.



Basically, you want people to provide web content to you, for free. Just SAY that.

I do like writing shorts story, however, I do not trust your site. Not that I care much about plagiarizing anyway, I know how to deal with them, it is just that I don't feel like joining an unknown site.

This question is against the community guide lines by the way.



Edit: I don't get how I simply state my opinion not to join your site gets me a thumb down. I don't mind the thumb down, I gets lots, but simply hating people because they do not want to follow your way? You surely did not do a good job at changing my mind.

I can't really write a short story, because they turn into books. I don't write poems often, I only write them when I'm sad.



I might look at the site, if I get around to it.

Absolutely not. I've won quite a few contests...like, MAJOR contests...with my short stories and poems, but I don't like writing them. It's really tedious. I can't stand it. I want to write a full length book so I can develop the setting and characters. Short stories don't give me enough material to play with. And poems are just....well.....AWFUL to write.
