However many words/pages it takes to tell your story. Don't try to cut it down, don't try to pad it out. Just tell your story and when it is finished, rewrite it several times. If you have a set number of pages in mind you'll end up adding stuff that has nothing to do with the story.

The classic definition of a short story is one that can be read in a single sitting. The contemporary definition is any story between 1,000 and 20,000 words. (Arthur Brown was famous for writing excellent short stories that were MUCH shorter than that - some of them 2 or 3 paragraphs.)

Authors express the length of a story/book in words, not pages. I would suggest 2000 words. It depends. Most short stories are meant for a one sitting read. I hope that helps and good luck.

Go by the number of words, not pages.

Officially, a short story is anything under 7,500 words.

Then get out 4 seasons and see how long those stories are.

However many you feel is necessary. Also, look at the stories you mentioned and do around how many they had.
