Cool survey. I'm down!

Here's mine:

1. Do you believe you are too young to be distributing your knowledge of books over the internet - and with that, how old are you?

Hell no. I'm 28 and somewhat well read. Can't remember much of the classics like I used to but I am a writer (and a professional one at that) so I'd like to think I have some clue as to what I'm talking about.

2. What was the last book you studied at school/college/uni etc?

College? Oh crap. That was three years ago. Probably something for journalism.

3. How did you end up choosing your user name (nickname) for this site?

KK. My initials. Simple as that.

4. What is the most random thing about your physical appearance?

Good question. For those who notice one eye is bigger than the other due to surgery when I was 6.

5. Are you for team HP, team Twilight, team STFU or team apathetic?

Team STFU

6. Do you read the book before seeing the film?

Usually I do but on occasion I'll get to the movie long before the book, if ever.

7. What country are you from?

United States.

8. Beside Twilight :P what is your least favourite book in the world?

Oh damn. Good question. I'd say just about any crappy, cliched romance novel where the sex is far too sappy and emotiona for its own good. Sex is NEVER like that.

9. If you could be friends with ANY character in ANY book, who would you choose to be friends with?

Jay Gatsby from The Great Gatsby. Just a straight up interesting and complex gentleman.

10. Say you were in a life threatening situation in one of your favourite novels (Harry Potter killing the basilisk, Katniss in the Hunger Games, Frodo on Mount Doom etc...) How would you over come the situation you were forced upon?

Hmmm. Good question. I'll get back to you on this one. Have to think about it.

1. Do you believe you are too young to be distributing your knowledge of books over the internet - and with that, how old are you?

Hell, yes. I'm 27, had my first published article at 17 and a novel published by the time I was 21, a BA with Honours in English Lit at 23 And I STILL have a lot to learn about books and writing.

2. What was the last book you studied at school/college/uni etc?

The last book I studied at uni was "Drylands" by Thea Astley - a Miles Franklin winner and a remarkable work of Australian Literature that no one overseas has probably ever heard of. I loved it - about an old woman who uses a surprising amount of insight to make up stories about the people who live in her small town in Queensland.

3. How did you end up choosing your user name (nickname) for this site?

Kathryn is my real name. W is the initial of my surname.

4. What is the most random thing about your physical appearance?

My eyes are blue with a ring of green around the pupil.

5. Are you for team HP, team Twilight, team STFU or team apathetic?

I'm too old to be taking sides, but the Harry Potter fans tend to be more respectful of other users and are often interested in what I have to say.

6. Do you read the book before seeing the film?

Absolutely!

7. What country are you from?

Australia.

8. Beside Twilight :P what is your least favourite book in the world?

Clan of the Cave Bear by Jean Auel. Everyone else I know loves it, I thought it was over-researched and I hated that the central character left her son at the end of the book.

9. If you could be friends with ANY character in ANY book, who would you choose to be friends with?

Elizabeth Bennett from Pride and Prejudice, because we are so alike.

10. Say you were in a life threatening situation in one of your favourite novels (Harry Potter killing the basilisk, Katniss in the Hunger Games, Frodo on Mount Doom etc...) How would you over come the situation you were forced upon?

1. Do you believe you are too young to be distributing your knowledge of books over the internet - and with that, how old are you?

No I do not believe that I am too young, I enjoy helping others with my knowledge, I also love sharing book stories and recomendations. I'm not putting my age here sorry.

2. What was the last book you studied at school/college/uni etc?

Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck, I disliked the story as it wasn't my usual taste in books. It covered some very strong issues and we had to a lot of research into this.

3. How did you end up choosing your user name (nickname) for this site?

Oh, that was easy I love creating identidies. This is one of them.

4. What is the most random thing about your physical appearance?

My eyes are two colours. Random I know they are not a specific colour so when surveyed people have to put me under other.

5. Are you for team HP, team Twilight, team STFU or team apathetic?

Team HP, it will always be the series for me.

6. Do you read the book before seeing the film?

Yes of course.

7. What country are you from?

Know that would ruin my mysterious ways if I told you lol.

8. Beside Twilight :P what is your least favourite book in the world?

Probably Romeo and Juliet, well actually thats a play so other than Romeo and Juliet it would have to be Of Mice and Men - I was not a fan of that book.

9. If you could be friends with ANY character in ANY book, who would you choose to be friends with?

Harry Potter - For obvious reasons.

Jace Wayland - I love his smart attitude and bad *** ways.

10. Say you were in a life threatening situation in one of your favourite novels (Harry Potter killing the basilisk, Katniss in the Hunger Games, Frodo on Mount Doom etc...) How would you over come the situation you were forced upon?

How would I defeat the most powerful wizard in the world. Simple, I would use my use of logic in the face of danger to overcome him. Beneath his evil exterior there must be some sort of heart beating. I would turn this against him.

Lovely survey it was fun. Hope this helps.

Man, there's been a lot of answers. But what the hey, I'm bored too.

1. Do you believe you are too young to be distributing your knowledge of books over the internet - and with that, how old are you?

Nope, I don't think so. I'm 13.

2. What was the last book you studied at school/college/uni etc?

The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton. Brilliant novel, my favorite we read this year.

3. How did you end up choosing your user name (nickname) for this site?

I took it from Xenophilius Lovegood from HP. But then I discovered xenophilia is a real word, and kept it.

4. What is the most random thing about your physical appearance?

I have large ears. My fingers don't look deformed, but I'm double jointed so I can bend them in creepy ways when I want to.

5. Are you for team HP, team Twilight, team STFU or team apathetic?

Team STFU.

6. Do you read the book before seeing the film?

No, not usually.

7. What country are you from?

I was born in China, but moved to the U.S. when I was 5.

8. Beside Twilight :P what is your least favourite book in the world?

The Shadow Children series by Margaret Peterson Haddix.

9. If you could be friends with ANY character in ANY book, who would you choose to be friends with?

Geronimo Stilton! I can't resist mice, especially one that works for The Rodent's Gazette =)

10. Say you were in a life threatening situation in one of your favourite novels (Harry Potter killing the basilisk, Katniss in the Hunger Games, Frodo on Mount Doom etc...) How would you over come the situation you were forced upon?

Uh...I'll get back to you on that. (Though I'll probably break down to tears and lie in a fetal position)
wonderlanding.

1. I'm not sure about being too young to be distributing my knowledge of books across the internet, but I definitely come of as rather pretentious sometimes, a 14 year old advising people to read Jane Eyre. I feel a bit like a 60 year old sometimes, to be honest! I'm not sure it's the age that matters, but how mature one is. But anyway, I shall not enter into a philosophical rant.

2. I haven't studied a book recently, but I studied a play. 'Romeo and Juliet' to be exact, by William Shakespeare (well, obviously.) I adored every minute of it but wish we could have done Hamlet.

3. Seeing as I am an idealistic dreamer and tend to get comments thrown at me such as, 'Are you dumb or something? You're in your own little world half the time,' the nickname is fairly self-explanatory.

4. The most random thing about my physical appearance is the fact that my leg is completely clear the whole way down until one encounters the calf, where lies a beauty spot which no amount of answers can explain away.

5. Stuff Edward Cullen, I'm Team Hamlet. (see question 2. xD) *swoons* I adore every inch of his tormented, selfish, insane being.

6. I most definitely read the book before seeing the film.

7. I am from the United Kingdom, the land of glory. And weed.

8. My least favourite book in the world is T... oh confound it, we can't say that. Well then, probably anything by Jacqueline Wilson. She's far too overrated.

9. If I could be friends with a character in a book, I would probably befriend Cassandra Mortmain from I Capture The Castle. We're just kindred spirits: we both write, we are both somewhat reflective on life, we live with insane families and are rather impoverished. Oh, that or Anne Of Green Gables: we both have a pretentious tendency to use gigantic words, we prefer dreams to reality, and our imagination is our saving grace. This is a brilliant, but terribly hard, question.

10. Cry. xD

Anyway, thanks for the boredom-killer!

1. Do you believe you are too young to be distributing your knowledge of books over the internet - and with that, how old are you?

I'm 14. And no, I think I read quite a lot of books. Though I don't remember them until I touch the cover, then I can recall almost half the story with accuracy.

2. What was the last book you studied at school/college/uni etc?

Jane Eyre. It was tedious. The da*n woman wouldn't just shut up and sleep with Mr Rochester until.... =] But she does have some good prose.

3. How did you end up choosing your user name (nickname) for this site?

I was thinking of the Franz Ferdinand song and it wouldn't get out of my head. Great now you brought it back into my head. =]

4. What is the most random thing about your physical appearance?

Both my pinky fingers are crooked, they bend away from eachother. There's a bone that pokes out of my wrist because I walked into a door 2 years ago.I thought I had a third nipple but it turns out its just a scar that numerous other people age in my school have too. Can you say conspiracy? =]There's a scar in my palm from when a girl pushed me down a sloping hill, whilst in my roller skates. You could see the bone and all my mum said was 'sorry' and put a plaster on it. There's this grey mark behind my irises. Depending on the light my eyes look...well funky simply put. And if you pull my earlobe, you can see the peace sign. (But no one believes me.) There's more, But I'm probably already boring you.

5. Are you for team HP, team Twilight, team STFU or team apathetic?

Team Apathetic. Before I was Team Twilight. And shock, horror- couldn't stand Harry Potter. I just bought them to appear cool, and truth be told- I think it had the opposite affect. =]

6. Do you read the book before seeing the film?

Yes, definatley. But then I can't be bothered to see the film. =]

7. What country are you from?

England. But my parents are from Ghana

8. Beside Twilight :P what is your least favourite book in the world?

Lol. Erm The Truth about Forever, by Sarah Dessen. I wish that book would just self-implode. Argggh! Wasted 3 nights of sleep on that crappy book. I knew I hated it when I read the first page, but I gave it the benefit of the doubt.

P.S. I like the idea of Twilight, just not the way it was explored.

9. If you could be friends with ANY character in ANY book, who would you choose to be friends with?

Captain Yossarian (Catch 22:) Because he doesn't want to do, and is so determined not to. I don;t mind dying, but the guy has so much passion. That's why he's cool. Plus he's in the military...=]

10. Say you were in a life threatening situation in one of your favourite novels (Harry Potter killing the basilisk, Katniss in the Hunger Games, Frodo on Mount Doom etc...) How would you over come the situation you were forced upon?

Hmmm, I'd do what Yossarian did and strip naked and refuse to put any clothes on for the next few days

Cheers for the survey =]. Took my mind offf my upcoming exams.

1. Never too young or too old to have an opinion about books. I'm younger than Harry Potter but older than Daniel Radcliffe.

2. Are you talking about in a literature class? Lais of Marie de France

3. Shortened form of something my dad called me as a kid (yes I'm a nerd and a daddy's girl, get over it) (oh and no it wasn't ecoli)

4. My right foot has an arch and my left foot is flat-footed

5. I support team HP, not a fan of twilight though I do answer some questions on it.

6. I treat books and movies separate, so it can go either way

7. (middle of nowhere) United States

8. You mean published and as well as not a text book? Invisible Man by Ellison. For some reason I've never been able to get into it. I ended up finding it boring.

9. Keladry of Mindalen from the Protector of the Small Quartet. She reminds me so much of my best friend it's scary, which is why I think we would get along.

10. Find the escape clause. I really am a coward.

Okay Billet -Doux, lets see your answers from down under.

Oh, boy. I love surveys.

1. Possibly, I'm only fifteen.

2. "Antigone" by Sophocles (my school hasn't read a new book in over three months, thanks to California's budget cuts).

3. Coma Kid, it's in the lyrics of a song by Elliott Smith, my favorite artist. I have had about ten other names on here: Nevermore (Queen song), Apres Moi (Regina Spektor song), and Vinny (my actual name).

4. Hmm...well, almost everything on my body is 'random'. My arms and legs are too long and I am skinny. **Let's see....I have an odd freckle on my arm. There is a chicken pox scar under my chin. Oh and my favorite story I love telling people: When I was about six, I was in my dad's office and I shoved a pen in the middle of my palm - it left a scar and it is still there. (it's kinda embarrassing, actually). My fingers are really long. I also have a scar on my finger from my parrot (very painful, if I may add) that is shaped like a crescent moon. Too many scars.... I hope you had fun reading that! :D**

5. I'm team Shut The **** Up, (although I love Harry Potter). I can't wait for the new movie in July. But it is really annoying seeing that Twilight vs. Harry Potter question almost every ten seconds here in B&A.

6. About 85% of the time I read the book before the movie.

7. The United States of America

8. What if I don't have any other answer besides Twilight? :P *No, actually, I have read some pretty bad books before. So bad that I have read the first page and completely forgotten it within minutes.... And I really disliked "Lord of the Flies" - it just wasn't what I expected it to be. And even though I love Hemingway, "The Old Man and the Sea" was just too painful.*

9. I would love to be friends with Remus Lupin and Sirius Black, but mostly Sirius because he's more of a rebel. My other choice would be Elizabeth Bennet (Pride and Prejudice).

10. Okay, so let's pretend I'm fighting in the Battle at Hogwarts, I haven't the slightest idea as to how I would overcome this situation, I guess I would be going around casting spells and curses on whichever unlucky Death Eater that crosses my path! :D

This consumed thirty minutes of my boring life. Thank you :)

1. Do you believe you are too young to be distributing your knowledge of books over the internet - and with that, how old are you?

I would love to be too young for this; alas that ship has sailed. I'm 31.

2. What was the last book you studied at school/college/uni etc?

Graduating from College for Dummies. Seriously, college was something that happened during the last millennium, you think I remember textbook titles? I do remember studying the Federalist Papers in a government class, and it left a lasting impression on me; I still keep a copy close at hand. Yes, I'm a bit of a geek.

3. How did you end up choosing your user name (nickname) for this site?

My name is Michelle. Nice to meet you.

4. What is the most random thing about your physical appearance?

I have very long hair which I refuse to cut short even though I am no longer in my 20s. I realize that in another 10 years this will put me in league with Demi Moore and Cher (minus the plastic surgery and nudity).

5. Are you for team HP, team Twilight, team STFU or team apathetic?

I try to be team apathetic. I sometimes sell out to team STFU, but then I realize that arguing with 13 year old girls about sparkling vampires is about the most pathetic thing I can possibly do, and I defect to good old team Live and Let Live. (I would like to join Team Anarchy, but they can't seem to keep it together.)

6. Do you read the book before seeing the film?

I hold off on the film if it's a book I really think is worthwhile reading. If it's a pop culture modern movie, I'm not likely to read the book. Lately I've been watching Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers movies - no book spoilers there.

7. What country are you from?

The U.S. but I've spent less than half my life here. Citizen of the world, and all that.

8. Beside Twilight :P what is your least favourite book in the world?

There are lots of other bad books; I've had the pleasure of not reading most of them. This will be an unpopular opinion perhaps, but I found Nicholas Spark's The Notebook almost unreadable. I also couldn't stomach Clive Cussler, and thus ended my airport book affair.

9. If you could be friends with ANY character in ANY book, who would you choose to be friends with?

Atticus Finch would make a great role model, although perhaps not a friend. Gatsby would be interesting to know; I'd probably fall in love with him, though, and it would end badly for both of us. That raises a thought: why is it people don't write fan fiction for the classics? I'd love to stick myself in the world of Jay Gatsby or Elizabeth Bennet. I just read a short story that won last year's Nebula award, called Pride and Prometheus, that paired Mary Bennet with Victor Frankenstein in a rather well done Austen pastiche. I definitely recommend it - you can download it free from the author's (John Kessel) website. Why don't the rest of us write stuff like that? I want a Nebula award. I'd settle for a Pulitzer.

10. Say you were in a life threatening situation in one of your favourite novels (Harry Potter killing the basilisk, Katniss in the Hunger Games, Frodo on Mount Doom etc...) How would you over come the situation you were forced upon?

2. Right now I'm studying Jane Eyre

3. Uhm I love Ron Weasley.

4. I have an orange dot in my right eye (which is blue btw)

5. Team HP FTW!!!

6. Most of the time, yes

7. US

8. Does Breaking Dawn count?? Other than that, I don't really have any books I dislike. I usually read the summary of the book to make sure I like it before I actually read it.

9. Ron Weasley

10. I would do what the character did in the book

I have crooked fingers, and my feet are weird, and I'm too tall

5. Are you for team HP, team Twilight, team STFU or team apathetic?

HP!!!

6. Do you read the book before seeing the film?

Uh-huh. except for HP. I was young when Book 1 came out.

7. What country are you from?

Philippines, and proud of it!!! (Look in SE Asia)

8. Beside Twilight :P what is your least favourite book in the world?

Breaking Dawn.

Septimus Heap Series. IDK why i read it...

9. If you could be friends with ANY character in ANY book, who would you choose to be friends with?

Grover Underwood, Percy Jackson and the Olympians Series

10. Say you were in a life threatening situation in one of your favourite novels (Harry Potter killing the basilisk, Katniss in the Hunger Games, Frodo on Mount Doom etc...) How would you over come the situation you were forced upon?

Fight, duh.

1. No, I've read up on the publishing world, and I don't always answer questions that have to do with publishing, just book recommendations and "What do you think of my story?" Questions like that.

2. I don't remember the last book I studied. I believe it was The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. It was an interesting read and I was--as usual--the only one paying attention in class.

3. Randomness (which doesn't make sense, but whatever), how I usually choose my usernames. I can't even remember why, but I just wrote it down, then it grew on me.

4. One of my teeth is slightly twisted, but you can't actually tell, so whenever I complain I need to get them straightened, my mom tells me to "stop being dramatic" or to "shut up". I love my mom. :)

5. I'm every team except Team Twilight. Honestly, it depends on the day. Today I am Team Apathetic. I have been for sometime now.

6. Not always. I didn't read The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas, and I also didn't want to see the movie--as I knew it'd make me cry--but, grr, it was so good, I found myself unable to pull my eyes away. Then I burst into tears at the ending.

7. Mars. Hello, Earthlings! Actually, my family's from Africa, but I prefer to say Mars, because I might as well be from there, and it's more interesting.

8. Blood and Chocolate. I hate blood, and I love chocolate. I thought the movie looked good, so I read the book. Gah! I didn't even finish it. The thought of finishing it makes me feel sick.

9. Ron or Hermione. Mostly Hermione though, since we're so alike.

10. Being optimistic, then eventually begging for my life.

Fun survey!
kashtastic

1. Not really. I think that everyone's entitled to their opinion. But I would prefered for it to be an educated opinion. I only answer questions in which I've read the book they are asking about. I get annoyed at people who don't actually read the question they are answering, or if they have they start with "I haven't read the book, but...". I don't care how old an answerer is, but I want them to be at least somewhat knowledgeable about what they are answering.

That being said, I'm 21 and I'm still in that stage of being crazy egotistical and think I know everything about everything :-P

2. Just finished an essay 20 minutes about Shakespeare's Richard II and Machiavelli's The Prince. Am susposed to have finished reading Voltaire's Candide, but I haven't started yet... whoops.

3. It was Kate, which is my name... I'm so inventive. But then I noticed all these other Kate's who weren't me and decided to change. My sisters and I decided that we were hella-hardcore and we'd be awesome Rapstars! And my rapping name was Ka$hflow, yo yo. So Kashtastic is just a derivative of that.

4. I'm so ordinary looking. I have a scar through my right eyebrow from when I was 3 and I fell over. I had to have 12 stitches but the doctors did an awesome job and you can hardly notice it.

5. I'd like to think I'm team HP, but I think I'm more leaning towards team STFU.

6. Yes. Except for the movies that I didn't realize were based on books. There are so many movies out there based on books and I never realize till I see it in the movie credits. Like Slumdog Millionaire, I haven't read the book but I've seen the movie.

In general I try and read the book first.

7. Australia.

8.Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand or Catcher in the Rye. I just don't understand either of them. Went wayyyy over my head.

9. Hard to say. Some characters are just awesome, like Inigo Montoya. Yeah... princess bride is my favourite book so I feel the need to mention it all the time. I think I also would like to be friends with Severus Snape, cause he's just awesome.

10. I'd be petrified. I'd either faint (I've never actually fainted before.. ) or I'd run away. I know it's cowardly, but I'd be so scared. I doubt if in a situation that dire, I'd be able to think on my feet and manage to save everyone. I'd probably mess up if I tried to act proactively, and condemn the world.
Roonil Wazlib
2009-05-17 00:03:19 UTC
1. Nope! I'm fourteen. But I prefer learning from other people on here. :)

2. To Kill A Mockingbird

3. One of my favourite parts in the Harry Potter books. Where Harry tells Snape that Roonil Wazlib is his nickname. "That's what my friends call me." -Harry "I know what a nickname is!" -Snape

I just found it so hilarious that Ron's name got misspelled as Roonil Wazlib.

4. I can't swim at all, yet two people so far have asked me whether I am a swimmer, cause I have broad shoulders.

5. team HP. (is team stfu a group of people who are annoyed by fandom?)

6. Not always. Actually, I got interested in HP after watching the movie.

7. Singapore

8. There was this book I read halfway and gave up. After reading the first chapter, I was bored - there wasn't a substantial plot. But I tried to go on, couldnt. And I can't remember the title! That's how boring it was.

9. Ron Weasley from Harry Potter, of course. Oh and maybe Seamus Finnigan - he's hilarious. Hopefully he won't go after "me lucky charms".

10. I've no idea. As much as I love reading about them, I would be totally helpless if I were to be in the situation!

1. No. I'm 17. I believe you're never too young to share your knowledge on books for those who need your help. it shows your perspective of the story too, concerning your age and point of view.

2. The Cherry Orchard by Anton Chekov.

3. Uh. It's a short nick for my name?

4. I have a long torso and short legs.

5. none

6. yes! i have to make sure i do. the movies usually just ruin your opinion despite the good story in the book.

7. I'm from Indonesia.

8. I can't think of any right now. I guess a book can never be as bad to everyone. It's highly subjective.

9. Um. I'd choose to be friends with...Jane Eyre? so that i can see the clothes, place where she lives, everything. I love the classic touch. and she's a talented, interesting woman too.

10. I'd rather get a heart attack and die right away to avoid the drama. lol.
Lyra [and the Future]
2009-05-17 07:20:08 UTC
1. Do you believe you are too young to be distributing your knowledge of books over the internet - and with that, how old are you?

No, I don't think so. I suppose if I was, I wouldn't be a Top Contributor. And like arabesque, I just haven't read a bunch of books that are talked about on here because I haven't had enough time to get to them, partially because of my age. And with that, I'm older than Weasley Is Our King and younger than arabesque.

2. The last book we finished was Hamlet.

3. Well, I want a grand piano because I love playing piano. And I used to be "I Want a Grand Piano" but I found that a little boring and I wanted people to have a name to call me by, instead of saying "Hey, I Want A Grand Piano, I don't agree with you!" So now people can just call me Lyra. And the "Lyra" part comes from His Dark Materials by Philip Pullman, which is a trilogy I highly recommend.

4. Hmm. I have this birthmark on the left side of my face, which you can only see in the summertime if I've been out in the sun. It's just because the skin cells are dysfunctional or something, so they don't tan. If I've been out for a *long* long time, you can see the birthmark stretch over across my nose.

5. Harry Potter.

6. Usually. Sometimes, I don't realize that there *is* a book and I see the movie first. Like with Stardust and Howl's Moving Castle. I didn't realize the movies were based off of books.

7. America.

8. Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. Interesting concept, but dreadfully boring.

9. Hermione Granger from Harry Potter. We have a lot in common.

10. Well, I wouldn't handle it particularly well. I suppose I'd just act on instinct, which might end up with me running away, or maybe I'd just end up panicking. It wouldn't be pretty.

1. No, not really. I'm fifteen.

2. To Kill a Mockingbird (Harper Lee).

3. It's a combination of my favourite bands, Easily Amused and Vanilla Ninja, turned upside down and with a couple of love hearts thrown in. = )

4. Nothing, really.

5. HP all the way. Twilight sucks.

6. Yes, generally. I usually prefer the books to movies too.

7. Australia.

8. Betrayal by Fiona McIntosh. It was absolutely horrible; didn't even bother with the rest of the trilogy.

9. Hmm, don't know.

10. Don't know either.

= )

I'm bored too. It's 11 p.m. here and I'm too bored to sleep. Here goes:

1. Do you believe you are too young to be distributing your knowledge of books over the internet -

Yes. They ought to kick me right outta here.

and with that, how old are you?

18.

2. What was the last book you studied at school/college/uni etc?

The Great Gatsby.

It was fabulous.

3. How did you end up choosing your user name (nickname) for this site?

I like soup. And I like the word soup. It seemed logical.

4. What is the most random thing about your physical appearance?

Um, well

um

I don't know

Stop it

5. Are you for team HP, team Twilight, team STFU or team apathetic?

I pretend to be on team apathetic, but really I'm on team STFU.

I can't help it

Sniff

6. Do you read the book before seeing the film?

Yes I do. I don't really watch a lot of film, though, so...

7. What country are you from?

The US.

8. Beside Twilight :P what is your least favourite book in the world?

Now how did you know...!

I can't really think of anything else. Normally if I don't like a book, I don't finish reading it at all, so I forget all about them pretty quickly.

9. If you could be friends with ANY character in ANY book, who would you choose to be friends with?

I kind of want to hang out with James from 'Someday This Pain Will Be Useful to You'. We would drink tea and talk about books and he'd be his gay ol' self and tell me about that nice farmhouse in Kansas.

10. Say you were in a life threatening situation in one of your favourite novels (Harry Potter killing the basilisk, Katniss in the Hunger Games, Frodo on Mount Doom etc...) How would you over come the situation you were forced upon?

If I were Laila in 'A Thousand Splendid Suns' I would've beaten Rasheed in the face with a shovel and disguised myself as a man and run away.

I can't imagine that would have worked out very well, but... I think I would definitely have given it a shot.

1- Nope, I don't think I'm too young to be helping people with their literary needs. It's just that, I haven't read the majority of the books they're asking about. I have a lot of summer reading. I'm nineteen :)

2- Last book I studied was The Republic of Plato for my history class in university. It was really interesting. I've only had one English course so far, and that was last fall. But my history class is way more interesting.

3- a) I remembered the word and that it had some kind of association with Arabic Islamic art. I checked, and it did relate to calligraphy too, and I love Arabic calligraphy. b) I'm Arabic. c) It looks and sounds cool to me, I like the 'esque' at the end.

4- Random? Uhh, I have a birthmark on my right earlobe . . . If you ever need a literal shoulder to cry on, you probably should not ask me because my shoulder is very bony. My sister hit her head on my shoulder and said it hurt really badly. Oh! On my right thumb, I have a scar sort of shaped like a 'U.' About 5 years ago, in the winter, my family went to visit my cousins. My little sister was sitting on the steps inside their house, near the door, and I was untying her shoes. My hands were wet from the snow, and as I tried to close their door, my hand slid upward and pushed their glass window VERY hard. It shattered and sliced my thumb. I didn't feel it, but it was bleeding like crazy. I never went to the doctor, my dad just bought bandages and we let it heal by itself. Now there's sort of a bulge where I'm pretty sure there is scar tissue, and a scar.

5- Well, I am a long-time Harry Poter fan, but I don't pick teams.

6- The question should be . . .do I ever see the film? That rarely ever happens. I have seen some movies before reading the books they were based on, but that's because I probably didn't know it was a book first. If it was a book I knew I wanted to read, then I'd read it first. For example, if I ever decided to watch The Secret Life of Bees, I'd read the book first.

7- I was born and raised in the US, but my family is from Yemen.

8- 'Great Expectations' and 'Jack Maggs.' I would say 'Robinson Crusoe' but I never got around to finishing that.

9- Anne Shirley. Clare DeTamble. Allie Caulfield. Sistine Bailey. Luna Lovegood. Dallas Box. Briar Moss. Maniac Magee. Caleb Trask. Samuel Hamilton. Finny.

10- I would . . . try to . . do what . . . seemed the most . . . useful in the situation? You know, no matter how dangerous and life threatening, blah blah blah, and I'd be the hero and die after saving the day. Everyone would grieve, but -- I saved the day! [Yeah, my creativity has been misplaced]

Fun :)
